Captain's Log: 2 November 822 A.S.
J. Scott, Commanding Officer
SS-Endeavor, Corvo Class Science Ship

My crew and I encountered multiple Nomad vessels and structures today in Omicron Delta that were previously unknown to me. We arrived in Omicron Delta to investigate the Rosa Anomaly and the abandoned Santa Rosa Depot that was stationed near the anomaly. Intelligence reports that we gathered stated that there was potentially valuable equipment on the station, but there was no indication as to what type of equipment it was.

Once we arrived in Delta we saw the Bustard Light Cruiser The.Salvager in orbit near the Freeport. Having previously encountered this ship and had good relations with her Captain we decided to group up to search for the station. Liz was able to locate the station very quickly and sent it's location to the Endeavor. Unfortunately when we arrived to the station it was in an automatic lock down mode and there was no way for us to dock on the station. Since the lock down seemed to be on a timer I took some time to study the anomaly in more detail.

Not long after arriving at the station multiple ships of various factions began showing up, Order, Core, Corsairs, Outcasts, Zoners, and a few others. For a moment I thought it was going to be a blood bath as all the factions that are hostile towards each other were gathered in a single place with a potentially very valuable prize in front of them. Before they could even think about fighting against themselves dozens of Nomad ships de-cloaked and immediately engaged all of the human ships. There were Battleships, Cruisers, Gunboats, Fighters, Bombers, and new type of nomad ship with some type of previously un-encountered beam weapon. The Endeavor took heavy damage from to the secondary hull from these beam weapons and I immediately left the area and headed to the Freeport to make emergency repairs.

Once repairs were made I returned to the anomaly to reengage the Nomad forces, however, this time we managed to avoid the beam weapons and the Endeavor was fairing much better in this battle. Once it seemed our rag tag human fleet might actually beat the Nomad forces an extremely powerful Nomad ship designated Ish'Tar class de-cloaked and began picking off the human capital ships one by one. Multiple Zoner colony ships and Core battlecruisers were lost at the hand of this beast and it looked like it was going to single handily destroy the human fleet.

Luckily the Ish'Tar vanished just as quickly as it had appeared leaving only a few Nomad capital ships and gunboats left to engage our fleet. The Endeavor sniped as many vessels as possible while trying to stay out of range of the Nomad battleships, however, one battleship was able to get in close and unleashed a horrendous volley on our ship. Within seconds our shields and batteries were depleted and we were taking heavy damage to the ships armor. I immediately ordered the ship to take evasive action and engage the cruise engines to get us out of range of the Nomad ship. Once out of range we made repairs and used the remainder of our nanobots to repair the damage to the Endeavor's systems. Knowing that we could not sustain another attack like that I decided to keep the ship within sensor range of the battle, but out of range of any weapons fire.

After Zoner reinforcements arrived the fleet was able to defeat the remaining Nomad ships and secure the station. I thought that once our common enemy was defeated that the various factions would return to trying to kill themselves, however, they seemed too interested in the potential treasure aboard Santa Rosa Depot to care much for each other.

After what seemed like hours the station indicated that it would be removing the automatic lockdown within 10 minutes so I took the Endeavor into a position near the station to prepare to dock. I did not want any potentially valuable research to fall into the hands of groups like the Core who would just attempt to turn it in to a weapon. Before the station could unlock the scanners began picking up massive energy readings nearby that indicated the presence of an overloading Nomad Reactor. Visual observation confirmed that readings were emanating from clearly unstable Nomad Reactor so immediately diverted all power to the weapons and shields and attempted to get as much distance between us and the reactor as possible before it overloaded and destroyed everything around it. We managed to get some distance away before the reactor exploded and saved the ship. However, Santa Rosa Station, the anomaly, and everything else within a radius of 10KM of the reactor were instantly destroyed by the reactor.

Fearing another possible attack from the Nomads I set course towards the Freeport again and encountered another Nomad entity designation Destiny's Eye. This was unlike anything I have ever encountered or even heard of before. It was not really a ship but more like a sentient Nebula. It seemed to just fly around as if it were curious about us. Despite the risks I attempted to follow this entity and learn as much about it as possible. We repeatedly scanned the entity and attempted to communicate with it, however, we were unable to gather any useful information about it.

Several of the ships around the Freeport attacked the entity causing it to change shape and instantly destroy every ship that it came into contact with. I urged the others not to attack it since it was clearly only destroying the ships that attacked it and ignoring the others. However, out of fear many more ships attacked it and were subsequently destroyed by the entity. Before we could gather any additional information about this entity it just dissipated like a cloud of steam.

It will be months before we can scour through all of the data collected on this day and I fear this maybe a prelude to a much larger problem. If the Nomads attacked a populated house system with what we encountered today they could destroy entire planets within seconds.
