The story of So Hai

The story of So Hai is full of amazing ups and terrible downs.So it should be,when you think of his turbulent past and his way of joining this world.

Actually,So Hai is not your average man.For one,he is not your average 30-40 year old something man.Actually,he is more than 800 years old.

During the Sol war,the Communist Chinese wanted to create a squadron of supermen,capable of winning any space engagement with little effort.These men were drafted from all parts of old Earth China,but So Hai was drafted from the Sakhalin peninsula.His training began shortly after the bloody war started,and in a years time he was a fully capable fighter pilot.

After he was given his own ship,he fought with great ardour for the Communists,but not for their cause.For how skilled he was in battle,he did not really enjoy cutting down enemy ships to pieces.This realisation came after a while,after he had downed around 300 enemy fighters for the price of a few dents on his ship.He felt that this war was unhonourable,a crime against humanity,and should stop at once.

Once he could not stand doing that any longer,he decided to resign from the Military,but his superiours would not want to hear a word of it.He was too good of an asset to just let him walk away.So he was forced to fight.
After a month,he staged his "capture".While on his mission,he was to separate from his squadron and engage aan Alliance squadron all by himself - he was perfectly capable of winning,so there was no danger in him going alone.Once he separated and met the "enemy" squadron ,he told the enemy he wanted to surrender and he wanted to be captured.He fried his defence systems in an attempt to show the "enemy" how sincere he was.After all,he had a huge bounty on his head,after so many confirmed kills,the Alliance wanted him captured,alive.

He was succesfully captured,and placed under immediate arrest.Hewas interrogated about practically everything,and sensing he was sincere in his defection,the Alliance welcomed him.But he did not want to fight any longer.
Because of the imminence of defeat of the Alliance in Sol,he requested to be cryogenised and sent on one of the sleeper ships for the Sirius sector.His request was approved,and he was sent to the Sleeper ship Kusari.



After 800 years,he was removed from stasis and reawaken to life by the Kusari representatives,wanting to capitalise on his amazing fighting skills in the war against Bretonia.
After he was briefly instructed and was given his own ship,he went on to defect again.After he read all the history of Sirius,he felt this new war against Bretonia was another criminal war,just like the Sol war.He felt it was a war between brothers.After this,he defected to Bretonian space,but did not join the Armed Forces.Instead,he chose to stay a freelancer,unbound by limits.

Wanting to do some good for the citizens,he immediately signed up as a bounty hunter and lawful mercenary and vigilante.He heard about the empire of Corsairs and their wrongdoing,and wanted to make it right.
He immediately started shooting down all the corsair ships he could find in his way.Soon,other petty pirates followed.Mollys were given no respite,as he thought their intentions of liberating Dublin were insincere.
Within a short span of time,he managed to make a name for himself again.He downed an insane number of enemy ships - around 150.In his short career,he went on to become very good friends with a fellow bounty hunter,who took him in the edge worlds,to wage his personal war against the Corsairs.

He even went as far as to sign a deal with the Outcasts to buy a couple of weapons from them,in exchange of his promise to fight the Corsair scum with all his power.
Becoming unstoppable in his personal vendetta against the Corsairs,he gained their respect.Ah his sight,many cannibals flew in terror,refusing to engage him,just to find out the rumors about him were true.Rumors that he was one of the most terrible corsair enemies,and one of the best fighters in Sirius.


In one fatidic day,after he exterminated another Corsair squadron in Omicron Gamma,all by himself,he was forced to leave the system to make emergency repairs - this time he had overextended his luck.
Relying on luck more than anything,he used a newly found jumphole to make his exit.But the jumphole was anything but stable.After he exited,he found himself in a completely new system,full of .... unidentified ships,that were aggresive towards his.Those ships were unlike anything he had ever seen.First of all,they were transparent,and did not respond to his hails.So he did his best to defend himself,but after a few more minutes,his engine collapsed and he was brought to a standstill.

Sensing his death was near,he prepared for the worst.But the enemy ships did not destroy him.Instead,they came close to his ship,disabled his shielding systems,and latched onto his ship.After penetrating his defence systems,the truth was out : these ships were actually a very aggresive species of aliens,and they were trying to infect him.But once he finally saw the purple being in his cockpit,it was too late.Too late for anything.

To this day,his ship floats motionless in the void system of Omicron Iota.Nobody knows what became of So Hai,not even his best friend,Joe Carson.
