Ambre's mood turned from neutral to shock once she heard the second officer's voice. She remembers that voice clearly - from mocking and taunting him to the desperate fight of before. He looked nearly exactly like she imagined - uncultured, poor and villainous. While she could normally bear the treatment she usually received, Graves' staring and awkward smile made her want to crumple up and disappear from his dignity-eliminating eyesight in shame. She knew she was in trouble, deep trouble, if that man decides to take up revenge on the unfortunate history between the two.
Lachance nearly jumped at Graves' suggestion to proceed alone, relief hit like a bucket of cold water as the other officer declined.
"I'm still going to stand by my words. Moreover, what is this.. fiend doing here?!" she points to Graves, clearly frustrated with his presence.
