I'm a bit concerned that nobody else seems to question what is happening here via ooRP circlejerking.
I'll try to formulate it a bit more neutral this time, although I'm pretty certain it will already generate flak anyway. So what do we have. Tutashkhia doing a great job both ingame and on the forum to find allies to attack Liberty and giving it pressure. To be honest, I'm not really concerned about the possibility of Long Island Station actually getting destroyed - the unlawful alliance simply lacks in enough firepower to do that. The PoB is Core 5, has it's own defense parameter as well as the guns of Trenton, the torpedos of the docking ring and the pulses of Newark, LN, 5th, BHG and a crazy amount of lolwutty indies to at least interrupt the attacking forces. This isn't a RHA siege with more than twenty battleships. This is Ahoudoris, Scyllas and a few non-NC-Capitals. That means, they can't deal more damage than the shield + repair brings back instantly, which means they'd need to sit hours infront of that defensive parameter and fire at the station and hope somewhen the shields will go offline.
But this is not about the siege itself, but about how Huggie and Light try to bring in K'hara as well. To me, that move is absolutely not acceptable in the way it was done, in all silence and with ooRP deals. I wouldn't have a problem with it if there wasn't an acceptable RP done about it, but what is given is not acceptable and I wonder why K'hara is still on the Attack Declaration Thread listed along with Rogues.
Let's see what Tutashkhia did to justify an attack on a PoB Core 5 in the heart of Liberty:
It started with this here: To: The Liberty Government, People Who Might Get Harmed - and this was great and I hope people will follow this example. Not only he found a justification to use the NEMP on the California Gate, no, it also provided enough material to continue with what was given. To find allies for the siege, following roleplay was given.
if not more. Look at all those posts, not only by Tutashkhia but by all the other people, officials and indies. That unlawful alliance really looks promising. Rogues, Outcasts, Commune, maybe even the Lane Hackers. That's all the boys you fear, and the Commune, when you're a trader or a Libertonian lawful.
But now to the point that was bold. While one could argue now the Oracles are a part of Malta, they were not targeted by this transmission, as you can see when you read the title. Other Outcast factions were mentioned. NC, Commune, primary (officials) and secondary (indies) - at least that's the usual terms used to inRP differ between indie and official. Oracles were not mentioned. One could say it's a metagame we see here. Who else did get the transmission as well? Order maybe?
But let's have a look at the response from the Oracles itself. Two lines. Oh, and the name, giving it a third line. Now, what does us tell that response? In fact, it's even only one line that explains the Oracles tell you the nomads have interest in this. Boy, we can be lucky he added the line above and his char's name below it. That totally makes it quality RP, right?
It's one thing to have an unlawful alliance popping up, as that was very well done by Tutashkhia. There is not the slightest fault done there. But powering K'hara to join this? With -one- sentence from an Oracle? Nothing else was done about it, and once Huggie wrote that line, Light silently added K'hara here. And while Huggie's response to the transmission was reportet at least twice, as I got the message about it being reportet already, they still are listed there, the message didn't get deleted. Is this how it should be now? And unlawful alliance, including Rogues and maybe even Lane Hackers (one official Lane Hacker showed up yesterday and partook in the attack on Liberty already), together with aliens? ROGUES AND LANE HACKERS AND ALIENS? They are red to each other, the Lane Hackers even fighting them to the death. Yes, the Maltese are neutral with the nomads, which had some good aspects as well as Maltese Indi Caps roaming through Major and Psi and harvesting nomads there - thanks Obama.
Do we want to see Rogues and Lane Hackers together with K'hara? No.
While it would be totally interesting to see this happening ingame - the reactions of Lane Hackers and Rogues on the aliens, that is - this is an absolute no-go, to add K'hara here. What would be okay: Have them attack Liberty on their own and ONLY with their neutral Maltese buddies, but NOT WITH ROGUES, WHO ARE RED TO THEM. NOT WITH LANE HACKERS, WHO ARE AT WAR WITH THEM. And dare anyone to come with "But Yoshida is inf"-SHUT UP! No!
So, please, do it right.
- Don't metagame your transmission access!
- Don't bring in a faction that did one line of RP to justify getting added to the attack list. That's bullshit. It's a Core 5 PoB in the heart of Liberty. Sure, K'hara, bring all your caps there, into the heart of darkness. After all, it's just one jump, right? PUT EFFORT INTO IT, YOU ARE AN OFFICIAL FACTION! I'd love to see Haog's interaction with the elder spirits that show their thought process. Do anything, but do it and done show us that I-don't-care-anymore attitude. I'm really disappointed by how Huggie behaves lately. First he declares nomad speech dead, which has so far caused nothing but confusion (...)- then he shows a weird ingame behavior. And now this. It really disappoints me, as I expect a bit more from the guy that guided the nomads for years. I always looked forward to somewhen have an encounter with Saturnia, and then it ended up with anus-rubbing nomad caps that share liquid cardamine and shoot a mortar in the next moment at you and then they 'embrace the rift' in Puerto Rico, killing themselves after having not gotten the chance to fight the Congress. Is anus-rubbing a K'hara running gag? I can't laugh about it. Not anymore. Please come back to certain standards of Roleplay Quality. If that one line will justify K'hara to be added onto the list for PoB attacks, it will set new standards - very low standards. If that's going to be allowed, let's write one line of RP for Hellfire, Xenos, Auxesia and all the other Liberty-opposing factions that can go to Manhattan.
TL;DR
It's critique on Huggie for this move, yes, and on everyone who thought ooRP that would be a good idea. Let the unlawfuls continue their good job and don't ruin what they have achieved so far by this bold move. If you want to attack that PoB, do your own roleplay about it. Don't metagame your transmission access like [Redacted] and don't ally with people you are red with.
