The character in question may be working with the religious faction but being apart of it allows that person to do a role of two people, a clear use of metagaming, which I believe is the principle folks are trying to convey.
Eh, it would be metagaming if it was two different inRP characters. It's the same one, though, and we have a lot of approved characters that are permitted this way. Goro Yoshida? Both Oracle and Lane Hacker. Enma Loyola and Wolfram Kruppstahl? Not only in two factions but also SRP approved.
To say something is metagaming, you'd need to be aware of what was defined as metagaming before for some reason the explanation was taken aware from the rules page:
Metagaming is having your roleplay character to know things that it couldn't know without experiencing it first hand or becoming aware of it through an outer influence, be it chatlogs, comms or something inRP. But the inRP character knows what happened.
