To ensure you don't take a Corsair Battleship to act like that ship with Corsair limitations would be a Farmer's Alliance ship. This is about balacing things ingame but not about balancing things inRP. inRP, there is no fairness, because the world is cruel, especially in Freelancer, where a life has as much value as the Armor Upgrade has. Gameplaywise, there is fairness. Would you want to see AFA Legates roaming around Kusari? (Well, you probably would like it, Zelot, but anyone else wouldn't.) When you log as a Sair, you simply have to deal with the fairness-based regulations of the ship and ID.
