They have a badge, a gun, and (in roleplay) fellow officers who will side with them against you. So you're screwed until you can file a complaint with a civilian review board.

Cops and soldiers are often rude...They still have a badge and a gun. Treating them as if they don't have a badge and a gun, isn't authentic roleplaying, even though it sucks to be bossed around by a power mad 12 year old. I'm sure a lot of parents know that feeling quite well.

Try a 4 1/2 -year-old...:)

Anyway, my questions had more to do with the RP place of IDs outside of representative factions, especially in a situation where (1) I'm not outnumbered, (2) other house authorities seem unfriendly to them, and (3) in a setting notorious for oorp behavior. I'm quite happy to RP this type of situation; it just wasn't clear to me that that's what they were doing. Now I know.
