Hall wasn't especially dedicated to monitoring how someone was performing. Competition, however, was a good tool to make others do it for him and report it if it is really necessary. Whether or not McKinley came to Hall for that reason was not his worry, but he was pleased that he didn't have to do the work himself.

"Can you be more specific", he inquired as he lifted an eyebrow. His expression indicated that he was not open for any trivial nonsense, as it was the captains' careers that were in question.
