Question about rules!

Against the spirit of the rules gets you sanctioned as hard if not harder than blatantly against the rules. That shows true malevolence, as opposed to just ignorance.

There is no clear "spirit" of the rules, as much as there is "whim" in interpreting them or making up new, unwritten rules, which is one reason there is so much rules confusion and rules lawyering on the server. Rules sloppiness doesn't help the players, it does give the admins extra power of interpretation though so it won't be tightened or clarified anytime soon.

Clearly using formation cruise to get a speed of 420 is not against the rules. I don't see how there is a "spirit" of the rules that is being violated either, there is a game function that is being utilized, that's all. It's no different really than using the z key to keep speed up and fire torps or weaps that is allowed, something that is more iffy in my mind because it doesn't work for every ship.
