Finally, I’m back in Liberty again. To be honest, I’m quite happy about it, I’ve really missed New York and its sometimes weird people. Not to mention it’s usually rather safe there, atleast nothing compared to the dangers of the Edge World, as I now know.
Still, the trip to the Outer Rim of Sirius was a very entertaining one, and an experience I’m glad I decided to make. Probably, the most entertaining part for me was to have such good company, as Sarah really helped me to stay concentrated and not panic. Yes, I have to admit I was kind of nervous when we entered the Omicrons. You know, about the whole stuff that could have happened to me there, beginning with getting shot down in a matter of minutes. Also, she seemed to have some good info about where the best bars in the Omicrons are located. And god, it felt good to drink something, even though it wasn’t much, again after my latest attempt to be dried out.
Luckily, nothing too dangerous happened to us, quite the opposite, space was pretty much empty when we jumped in. Which I was happy about to be honest, as we also crossed Corsair territory, and seriously, I don’t want to meet these guys anytime soon. Still, we managed to have a look at some really majestic ships, like an Order battleship. On top of that, we visited the damaged Freeport 11, a very interesting sight, especially with three Zoner Carriers guarding it.
The most breathtaking thing was the scenery, though. You’d never be able to see anything like it in House Space I guess. All the nebulae, stars and asteroid fields, especially in Omicron Kappa if I remember correctly, really had a mysterious and somehow alien look. I mean, Kappa looks like a freaking wormhole! What else do you want?
Through a lucky incident, we were able to jump directly from Omicron Delta back to Texas, using an unstable and high-energetic jumphole we had picked up on our long-range sensors. All in all, this journey won’t be something I forget anytime soon, and maybe I will continue my exploration attempts there, but for now, I have to rest for a few weeks. When I looked out of my cockpit back in the Omicrons, and saw all these ancient wonders before me, I must say I began to fundamentally question life again. Man, I definitely have to sort out my mind soon, but this time probably with a good glass of wine on Trenton.
