Freelancers and Smugglers

While on a routine patrol through Stuttgart, I cam across a vessel belonging to the group FL-ER, also known as "FreeLance Escorts and Repairs". I asked them several questions about their group, all of which were readily answered. They have a large trading/transport division and a small bounty hunting wing, with an estimate of 4,5 good pilots. They claimed to have several contracts both in and outside Rheinland for the supply of bases, including Solitaire Metropolis. Despite the rumors of them being Cardimine smugglers, I found little evidence to back this, however, I doubt they would be silly enough to admit it to an officer of the law like that.

Later on, I came across two actual smugglers, the first was a freelancer carrying Counterfeit Software, at first they dropped the contraband while running and tried to claim innocence, but I had already gotten the guncams of their cargo, so they paid their fine and left. Next, just as I was finishing with the freelancer, a Samura Train full of Xeno Relics came past in the trade lane, luckily, they must have saw how close I was and decided not to try resisting. They dropped the cargo promptly, however while putting through their fine, the Federal Police decided to take them out, before I could gather any information about how they got access to such an amount of Alien Artfacts, normally found in the hands of Corsairs and their friends.
