We tried to continue classical approach with Sairs years ago, but we faced a wall of meh, apathy, laziness, boredom and even hate. We lost Benitez and Black Sails in a similar way you are losing Custodi now. They just melted for various reasons. I think they just failed to offer something new. That weird Elder Joey noticed a need for change well and Sairland went a long way from bad-ass to whatever we are now. Did we have any choices where to go? No. We simply went where Community was opening a way for us. Community is like a market that you must sell yourself to. If you find it disgusting, then simply relax, assimilate to other factions and do what they do. I do it once per a week and it freakin' feels good.
Custodi is a very good product with huge potential for better Community. Just find out what do you have that Community needs. Be different in it and advertise it more. Pick your colour, put it on a stick and stick to it.
