Sadly not, since there is the forum navmap which everyone uses in case they don't find something, everyone would just say they know it already.

I highly doubt this statement. Many would go with RP about gathering knowledge of Jump Holes etc. for their factions.
Yet it is important for bases to either not give too many details or consult the stations owners ooRP before it as otherwise it is borderline powergaming.

There wouldn't be many indies though who would pay an Explorer and only unofficial/offical factions... likely due to what Shelco said (which is sad)
