Completed in mid-to-late 752 A.S., the Omaha is without a doubt one of the longest serving still active warships in the Liberty Navy, third only to the Mississippi and the Yukon. Most notable for her role in the attempted retrieval of President Barbara Jacobi from the Order in 801 A.S., the Omaha stands in testament as the only active duty warship to survive the gunfire of the O.C.V. Osiris, albeit with marginal damage done at best.

Omaha was the third in her class-line, preceded by her sister ships L.N.S. Georgia and the L.N.S. Helena. Officially launched in early 753 A.S. due to hardware issues that also struck the other two 'Georgia'-class warships, the Omaha's first station to be was the long orbit of Planet Atka in Hudson, seeing the need to defend trade routes from Rheinland to Liberty and vice versa. The Omaha proceeded to hop stations from time to time, stationing itself at one point inside the Zone 21 minefield near the locked Naval gate to the secured system of Alaska, and another at a time just before the violent dark matter storm that ravaged Kepler arrived.

By the late 790s, the Omaha had seen a fair bit of action, all of which however involving stray attacks by pirate raiding parties and the occasional rogue freelancer trying to test his luck. By the turn of the century, and the onset of the Nomad war, the Omaha and her crew stood fast as they watched Sirius fall apart around them. The chain of command became corrupted by influence of the Nomad menace, and all the unknowing crew could do was follow orders. The most famous of her deployments occurred during this time, when she was sent to blockade the gateway to the Zone 21 minefield as LSF Commander Jun'ko Zane, Edison Trent, Michael King and numerous other Order pilots fled from the Alaska gate with Jacobi in hand. Her CO, Rear Admiral Ryan Tannhauser, relayed them one warning to return Jacobi, but this warning was short lived as the O.C.V. Osiris soon decloaked above her port side array, landing shot after shot. Trent and company escaped aboard, and the warship subsequently cloaked again, forcing the damaged Omaha to return to port, her mission a failure.

The Omaha sat in dry dock for the few months it took for the war to finally end. By the time she was returned to active duty, her CO had retired, and was soon succeeded by a budding Navy Captain named Oscar White. White commanded the ship throughout the first decade of the new century, but a surprise attack on her position while she was defending a Gateway supply depot in Manchester ended his career, killing him and half his bridge crew in the process. The Omaha and her escort fended off the remaining assailants, but was soon after towed to Southampton Shipyard, where she was authorized for a refit and rearmament.

Her hull was patched and her hull subsequently upgraded, resulting in a thicker and more dense weave to repel enemy fire. She was also fitted with new 'Hotchkiss' and 'Pounder' type warship guns courtesy of BMM to replace her aging and damaged Libertonian armament. Once finished, the Omaha returned to New York, where more refits ensued, including the rather ironic installation of a D-EM6c "Camouflage" type cloaking device.
Without a CO to command the vessel, the ship was transferred to the Liberty Navy Third Fleet, where she was placed under command of Admiral David Anderson, and subsequently his subordinate Captain Allen Bradley. Bradley's command of the vessel has remained a rather uneventful one, with certain exceptions, and by the time of the vessel's transfer to the Liberty Navy's Fifth Fleet, the ship's scars seemed to outnumber the personnel aboard. From here on out, the Omaha, her track record already impressive, longs to go out in a bang, and Bradley's reckless attitude may just spell that for her.
