Born on Hamburg to a poor mother and a father that seemingly disappeared prior to her birth. Raised poor, Melanie received a basic education and rather than attempting to enter a University she went to work at a mechanic shop to help support her home. At the age of 30 the owner retired and passed the shop to Melanie who found herself over worked and under paid, but loved the work. After 6 years of owning the mechanic shop, Melanie sold the shop to buy a ship to earn bigger mounds of cash traversing the stars and diversifying her skills unto starship engines.
