Yesterday at approximately 0025 SMT, a task force consisting of Keeper Raven and Sephiron in fightercraft and myself in temporary command of the Atlas infiltrated the Darlington Minefield. Timing our entry into the gas giant's atmosphere with the coincidence of a severe electrical storm, we escaped detection by the Battleship Grimsby, and boarded an unmanned outpost constructed by Bretonian forces near the largest alien structure within the atmospheric minefield. The location of this outpost was provided to us by Keeper Raven; the original source of the relevant intelligence is unknown to myself.
The station was pressurized and gravity was at approximately 1.3 g's, though in the apparent absence of counter-gravity generators to negate the crushing effect of Darlington's own pull, the mechanisms utilized to achieve this comfortable environmental condition are still undetermined. Our team swiftly located a large data storage unit, which was found to contain approximately 17 terabytes of highly detailed information regarding Darlington's atmosphere, spectral analysis of the alien structure's luminous emissions, and surmised mechanical function of organosilicate structures detected within the alien structure via ranged and immediate-proximity resonance manipulation.
The data storage unit contained no apparent security features, and immediate analysis by portable synthetic intelligence agents detected only methods of encryption which are known to us and were immediately reversed. After copying its entire contents, including making several backups, the solid-state drives of the unit were zero-wiped and dumped into space. Our team withdrew, returned to Elgin, and submitted the data for appropriate high-sec processing.
