Another day, another victory. This time, it was against the combined force of the Liberty navy, the Liberty Security forces, the New York based Liberty naval capital ships, and the Xenos as well. it started out a simple patrol duty, where Commander Aralie, and, newly appointed Fleet commander of the Hellfire Legion- Jason Moore were in the New York system. Due to a report of a Liberty Naval scout being in the badlands, they had launched on the patrol. Little did they know, that today was a to be a day of glory for them.
The scout led them out of the Safety of the Badlands, and of the shelter of the Rogue base, Buffalo, and near the Established battleship Missouri, and the Naval shipyard, Norfolk Base. That is when the rampage... no. not rampage, but, the Blood bath was initiated. Liberty's lawmen came in range, and engaged the two fighters, but fell like flies.
The two of them were landing hits with the precision and skill of a surgeon, and the enemies fell like flies. this was going well, until, as usual, the Lawfuls called in Heavy support from their capital ships. This was enough for me to launch from Vespucci, to provide the Commanders the required aid. providing them moral support with words during my flight, these two continued clearing out liberty's fighters.
the Fighters blew up, as if their shieldless hulls were attracted to thier gunfire. By the time i arrived, there was a single fighter left, and a helluva lot of Capital ships, firing blindly at the two HF pilots. My arrival Heralded the fire from 3 gunboats, firing their guns on my mindlessly, as if there was no tomorrow, missiles flying hither-tither, but not actually touching me.
a coordinated strike was enacted, whereupon, we shifted our devastating firepower onto the Gunboats engaging us. Fools. do they really think that they can hurt us? i wonder what the dead think about, after their ships are ripped apart by the antimatter blasts from my supernova...
the gunboats were gotten rid off, and we now faced a battlecruiser, when lo behold, another Hacker brother joins the fray. Ernst, in his falcata, and me in my bomber, proceeded to strategically rip apart the remaining battlecruiser's hull, which, with repeated fire succumbed to heavy damage. with no hopes of a victory, the Battlecruiser captain ordered the ship to engage cruise, and run for his life like a coward. no matter. one less enemy to deal with.
Now, just we were hoping the fight has ended, a bounty hunter, in a kusari bomber joins the fight, engaging me. big mistake. he was doing nothing to me, while i was landing every inferno shot i fired, and most of the gunshots i fired. A Bounty hunter gunship joins the fight. Big mistake, when facing 2 bombers, and 2 fighters, each with an inferno mounted. While the gunship had extra agility, it loses a lot of hull armour, and components. It was a matter of time, when the shield went down, and the one supernova shot i fired, destroyed the gunship.
Again, we think the fight is over, when we see a bunch of xenos on our scanners. fed up with all the killing we had done, we moved to engage the xenos. 2 taiidans, and 3 eagles. i chose my first target, who i felt was the most inexperienced in combat, and boy, was i right. he fell to my supernova under a minute of me engaging him.
The other bomber pilot engaged me, and while he managed to take my shield down, could not hit my hull. he switched targets, to Ernst. our first loss. after a while of evasion tactics, Ernt's bomber fell to Xeno fire. We tractored in his pod, though, so no harm done, hopefully. ive got the medical team on Vespucci checking him out now.
Now, with one of our bombers down, the Xeno bomber, john moved to engage me. *laughs* yup, you guessed it, fellas. Big mistake. He fell to my Supernova soon after. 3 Eagles, 2 Sabres, and 1 bomber, battling it out, when aid, in the form of a Hacker gunship comes. Apparently, the pilot is a psychopath, who considers xenos, food. With his help, we managed to take down an eagle, before he had our second loss.
A stray missile from the gunship hit Supreme commander Aralie's ship, forcing him to activate his ejection pod, which was tractored in by me. Vengeance on my mind, i started to engage the remaining xenos with a fire in my mind, while they were dodging a missile swarm after next from the gunship. Too bad Xeno ships are so frail. The two xenos died as well.
Again, we thought the fight is over, when a bounty hunter destroyer shows up, and starts engaging Edward, while stating: " i have nothing against the HF at the moment, stop firing on me". *laughs* "You fire on one hacker, you fire on them all, you fool" i thought. and with that, me, Edward, and jason proceeded to eliminate this final threat. the Destroyer, on its last legs, tried to run, but a well placed cruise disruptor stopped him dead in his tracks. Two seconds later, he died to a supernova shot from my bomber.
And with that, the Liberty Blood bath ended, with Liberty Lawfuls taking heavy losses, while we had a minimal 2 losses.
from what i could gather, here are the statistics:
There were many more losses, but they were not caught on the onboard digital recorder, unfortunately.
Our Losses:
LH-Ernst.Stavro.Blofeld
[HF]-Aralie
So, id say, its been a very successful raid for the Legion. Makes the Lawfuls remember who we, members of the Legion are, id say. *laughs*
Oh, on a side note, id like to add, Captain Jason Moore is not with us anymore, Since he isnt a captain any longer. He has been promoted to Fleet commander of the Legion, due to his excellent, unblemished, and unquestioned loyalty to the Legion's Cause. Congratulations, Jason. you've earned this one. Even though we are undergoing a phase of low activity, persueing more...'meaningful' targets, We are remembered for the devastation we are famed for. Liberty may be controlled by the Lawfuls, but we all know, California is as good as ours, which i have proven more than enough times aboard the Mentu in the Past.
