Well, I'd say that I was considering and discussing this from a hypothetical standpoint even after Tic bluntly stated that this was about one specific event.
From the time when we last discussed that rule I was of the opinion that to stick to the general idea of the rule a fleeing player would have to be considered dead for effects of the other rules. Unfortunately that's not so and, as Ivan has put it, there's no rule against it. I wouldn't go as far as saying that it's, in turn, condoned by them (the rules), but he didn't say that either. So, there's little substance for argument here, only theory. I'd say save the energy for discussing this over next time the spirit of this particular rule is put to discussion again.
