This is balanced?

Calm down guys, let's keep it constructive, the mods have enough to do without threads like this going off on a tangent.

Back on topic... I think Dab hit the nail on the head with the point about a lot of players not respecting the RP and just getting whatever ship will win, which is why things look like they do. I have a lot of respect for Jamez who persists with Gunboats when they're clearly the underdog of ship classes on the server at the moment. It's this kind of variety that will keep the mod fresh and exciting, no matter how ships are "balanced".

As I see it now, players with a bit of experience go either Raven Claw / Talon, Huegenot or some massive Battleship as these are the only ships that stand a fair chance of beating each other when tricked out. That's a selection of under 10 ships from the masses now available in the game. It annoys me to see players tied to specific NPC factions all flying these same ships, this is RP- it doesn't matter if you can't beat your opponent one on one because you don't have a Raven Claw or Osiris, that's what teamwork is for.

Here's to anyone with the strength of character (in an out-of-game context) to fly the underdog ships. :0)
