So, the day has finally come. That sounded overly dramatic but y'know. Anyways, we were already on Manhatten, wrapping up the last of our preperations. Along side Jericho, there was another member of our strike team, her name was Ryu-ko? I know she was Kusarian, didn't look the part though. I was a bit surprised when I heard that team leader wasnt my buddy Bones, but Ryuko seemed confident in her abilities, so I decided to go with the flow. Fueled up, we moved the ships to the landing pad. Jericho and team leader had me on standby for the first two minutes after lifting off, but soon my communications channel would pop open. "The Juggernaut is to leave the atmosphere about three minutes after we've entered combat, so I suggest you lift off in a minute and a half or so. That way we'll make their transports feel safe before the big guns show up and create discord amongst their escorts." Understandable, I lifted off at the exact time she told me to, slowly flying upwards. The channel lit up, seems like they've entered combat. Jericho seemed to enjoy what was going on. "Come on amigo you're missing all the fun! I'm keeping the transports pinned, the two girls are taking care of their escorts pretty well!" Two? I thought Ryuko was the only one, there were only two ships lifting off alongside me as well, maybe an insider? About three minutes in as I was about to exit atmosphere and enter combat, I heard a muffled female voice through a very messed up comms device. "Come on Jaxy its your time to shine! Woop one down good job Ryukoooo!" It sounds so damn familiar its bothering me way more than it should, but I decided to leave it for the moment as I finally join the fight. "More of their escorts are in bound, we took out two despite the odds but we wont hold up for much longer once the whole crew is here." The team leader notified, but I was already ahead of her firing my first few salvos at one of the transports. Jericho kept them pinned, and de-shielded, so all I had to do was pierce the hull. Missile after missile, their communications channel overlapping with ours was a real mess of panic and dismay. "One more shot!", Ryuko yelled out as a collateral engine explosion stopped all three of the transports in their tracks, with their contraband now littering the space around us due to hull breaches.

I was surprised at how easy this was, but I guess it was only due to really lucky circumstance of our starting location. Its a given that such a large scale battle would attract the authorities, so most of the hostile escorts dipped the hell out before the Navy arrived. Though we didn't care about them, the main prize wasn't going anywhere. "Good job Jaxy!" Is what I got from whoever that was. Jaxy.. Jaxy.. I remember that nickname from a long while ago. But its so foggy, I just cant get a clear picture. Maybe if I could at least hear her voice properly? Well either way, I'm sparing you the boring details of our questioning, what matters is that we were more than successful. The effort we put in payed off well after the team was able to claim the bounty. On our way back to Manhatten, Jericho poked me. "Yo amigo, hop on over to the bar, the one closest to the landing pad!" To be completely honest, I was in no mood for celebration, given how exhausting the preparations were. But my friend was unusually persistent. "You have, to come over. There's someone really important wanting to meet you amigo, you don't wanna' miss it!" After a bit more pondering at myself, I decided why the hell not. I could always use a drink or two three. Maybe I get to meet whoever that familiar voice was, though first I had to take a stop at his shop and actually change my clothes. The flight suit was suffocating.
