The Order

I have read over the Black Squadron official faction post, as well as other posts relating to the faction.
I have also observed numerous Order tagged and ID'd characters on the server (both BS| and independent).
If you put a gun to my head and ordered, "Explain the activities of The Order or die", I would have to respond, "Bye Bye cruel world..."
The only activities I've observed are blowing up BHG and Nomad NPCs. I still can't figure out how players of the faction are supposed to roleplay overthrowing the Liberty government if they aren't allowed in Liberty.
So...since The Order doesn't pirate, and they definately do not have a terrorist style ID, and so far as I can tell they are labeled oorp if they come into Liberty, what exactly does an Order character do? (other than spending an insane amount of effort getting that Tag in the first place)
I'd like some general answers, but also about one thing specifically. If The Order is fighting the Nomads, then it makes sense to me that they should be opposed to anyone carrying Nomad technology or biological material. They don't pirate for financial gain, but surely they would demand the confiscation of such items when they find them...or not?

ok, im not going to read through the entire thread but i'll comment to Xoria's original post...

First off... the order arent really concerned with 'overthrowing liberty'. Their primary goal is the protection of humanity and it's interests from alien threats - primarily the nomads. The reason the Order and liberty are 'at war' is because Liberty holds grudges - they're still pissed that Orillion stole one of their shiny top secret ships, and are convinced in their own minds that the order are nothing but filthy terrorists.

The order still has reason to believe that some key officials in Liberty's government and military are nomad infested as well, and since their goal is to destroy any sign of infestation by aliens they use that against liberty.

Now... it isnt OORP for the order to be in liberty space. They're allowed in any system in any part of space really... but they have to remain covert if at all possible. An order character taking a battleship or offensive fleet into liberty IS oorp, but a smaller order ship going there for recon/surveillance or other stealth-based missions is not.

The order doesnt pirate because, despite their 'exiled' status from the houses (liberty in particular, the other houses dont mind them so much), they still believe themselves to be lawfuls who are out to help humanity, not steal from it.

The order WILL openly fire on anyone using nomad equipment or carrying nomads or their technology without the order's express permission - simply because carrying or using such items poses a high risk of infestation to the ship and it's crew.

There's really more RP between the order and other factions than you're seeing, I think. They have frequent engagements with the Keepers and das wilde (both of these are their primary enemies). There are a lot of order stealth missions into liberty space which usually end in confrontation and pvp when Liberty brings a half dozen battleships to take down a single order gunboat or fighter...

The order also helps their corsair and zoner allies, and vice versa, in rp events when necessary.
