Misfit's Log

It's been a while

I've been working closely with two independent researchers (their top physicist and engineer) from the Heisenberg Research Station in Koeln, Rheinland, and another engineer from Ames Research Station in Kepler. They've been flying with me for close to three months now. We've conducted numerous tests with the Ingenuus Power Cell in my cargo hold attached to the main power supply, in preparation for the mating of the cell with the power supply permanently. Such an installation should be able to provide a much more reliable -and most importantly- consistent power stream to my ship.

Currently (that's not a pun) the power cell can only provide 75% of it's output to my ship, which hasn't been a problem since 75% is the maximum output I'm comfortable putting through my ship until I can upgrade some of the old girl's components. The bottleneck in it's output is due to the cables we use to connect the cell to the power supply. These cables are very expensive, and are used in transport ships to connect the power supply to specifically Heavy Transport Shield generators. With the power cell completely integrated into the supply, these cables will not be necessary and we can theoretically ramp up the output of the cell.

Theory aside, I've been conducting some practical tests by flying around the Sirius sector, logging the power requirements in different states of operation and observing the power cell's behaviour. I'll insert a diagram of the route I took.

The orange route indicates the "round tour" experiment.
The red route indicates a second trip we took to expand our data sets.

The 'round tour' went in a clockwise direction around the map, and the second trip was a return journey along the red path. The green line shows my proposed route to Heisenberg in Koeln, Rheinland. I'll be dropping by Freeport 2 on the way to pick up some additional components.

It's all coming together.

Misfit out.
