Well, Pirate, I apologise. I was making an effort to try and bring this discussion BACK into roleplaying since it is in the "Freelancer Role-Playing" forum. I know what game it is from. I'm an avid fan of the Fallout series. My posting here wasn't a personal opinion of my own but a vain attempt at a joke played out through my character.

And I'm sorry to dispute you, Angel, but the Phalanx CIWS does not fire 30,000 RPM and it is not the same weapon depicted here if that's what you are implying. The GAU-8 is strictly mounted on the A-10. Here's a few links.

The only thing that is capable of firing 30,000 rounds per minute is an Aussie developed electronically fired weapon that uses caseless ammunition if my memory serves me right. Apparently it's notoriously difficult to track down if you don't know the exact model name, also. It doesn't look anything like a gatling gun though. Here's a video.
