Meeting with [SIS]
Guten Tag, following the recent nomad incursion into Sigma-13, and the assistance provided by Secret Intelligence Service, we have opened up negotiations with them regarding further cooperation between our two agencies. On the table for discussion is the assignment of an agent to liaise between us, organizing further cooperation. They were looking to gauge the Buro's interest, and the likely the Bundestag as well, in helping Bretonia against both the Gauls and the "Red Menace", so to speak. While I do not think the Buro needs another war, with an opponent that has not yet shown us any aggression- which I am aware, at least, and I even more so doubt the Bundestag would want such a war either. Thus the likely extent of our mutual assistance will likely be securing our respective borders against the pirates of the Omegas. The Hessian's attack Bretonians almost as much as they do Rheinlanders, so it would be beneficial to all if they were to be shut down. Such a result could, and would most likely require, us to be active within the deeper Omegas, and perhaps even those closer to us, as such, the Treaty of Snowdown may need to be updated, or ..... circumvented.... if need be. They, the SIS, also expressed interest in escorts through Rheinland space, no doubt to facilitate their access to the Sigma star-clusters, and from there, perhaps even begin delving into the Omicrons. This would also be extending to the Buro gaining passage into and through Bretonia in return, where we could then start seeing about beginning operations through the Tau's, or even Gallia. However, that is likely quite far from now, and our first priority should be to assign liaison officers. Finally, I asked the agent if they were present during fighting against the nomads, and their experience of it, which seemed to match our agents experiences, at least as I've read from the reports. I think that covers all of the meeting, and with that concluded, I headed back to Berlin to continue with the ever present paperwork in my officer....
[05.10.2017 07:44:32] BDM|U-294: ?: Guten Tag, Mr Skirka
[05.10.2017 07:45:14] [SIS]-James.Skirka: Welcome sir.
[05.10.2017 07:45:36] [SIS]-James.Skirka: To whom am I speaking? If I may ask
[05.10.2017 07:45:49] BDM|U-294: ?: This is Generaloberinspektor Ohlendorf, of the Oberkommando
[05.10.2017 07:46:29] [SIS]-James.Skirka: A pleasure. It would seem that there are a great many things to discuss no?
[05.10.2017 07:47:10] BDM|U-294: ?: Ja, Mr. Weber's message also had some interesting topics
[05.10.2017 07:47:19] [SIS]-James.Skirka: Firstly, allow me to extend the Director's apologies for the incursion into Rheinland space.
[05.10.2017 07:47:43] [SIS]-James.Skirka: Even if it was met with welcome, it was not an approved governmental move.
[05.10.2017 07:48:19] BDM|U-294: ?: Times can be desperate. I think we can overlook such an incursion for now
[05.10.2017 07:48:50] [SIS]-James.Skirka: We shall insure that it does not happen again without forewarning the Rheinland Government and of course, the BDM.
[05.10.2017 07:49:13] BDM|U-294: ?: That would be most beneficial for all involved, ja
[05.10.2017 07:49:39] [SIS]-James.Skirka: Furthermore, following those events. A meeting was had with your agents in the Omega-55 system, are you aware of this?
[05.10.2017 07:49:53] BDM|U-294: ?: Hmm... I do not think I've read that report yet
[05.10.2017 07:51:22] BDM|U-294: ?: Was this the incident preceeding the nomad invasion of sigma-13?
[05.10.2017 07:51:34] BDM|U-294: ?: If I have my timelines correct, it should match....
[05.10.2017 07:52:09] [SIS]-James.Skirka: No, following. In short the SIS wishes to ally itself with the BDM regarding the 'red alliance'. I am uncertain if Master Weber
[05.10.2017 07:52:15] [SIS]-James.Skirka: Discussed this with you/
[05.10.2017 07:52:27] BDM|U-294: ?: Ah, I think he did, at least breifly
[05.10.2017 07:53:12] [SIS]-James.Skirka: The reasons are...fairly simple. Soon the connection with Liberty will be cut. Rheinland will be the only remaining link with..
[05.10.2017 07:53:18] BDM|U-294: ?: As, even tonight, we can see that the Hessians are ever braver
[05.10.2017 07:53:33] BDM|U-294: ?: And yes, of course, the war with Gallia
[05.10.2017 07:54:02] [SIS]-James.Skirka: We understand the Rheinland is not at war with Gallia...but even you must surely see their threat.
[05.10.2017 07:55:26] [SIS]-James.Skirka: It would be in both our houses best interest, for us to work together.
[05.10.2017 07:56:01] BDM|U-294: ?: Cooperation, and concertive organization, can be a great boon.
[05.10.2017 07:56:24] BDM|U-294: ?: However the bundestag is quite busy already, dealing with the Hessian and Corsair menaces.
[05.10.2017 07:56:51] [SIS]-James.Skirka: Which is why it should, for the time being at least, remaind strictly between our organisations.
[05.10.2017 07:57:10] BDM|U-294: ?: I think something along those lines can be arranged
[05.10.2017 07:57:34] BDM|U-294: ?: Although I doubt it would be easy to convince the Bundestag to open up yet another war...
[05.10.2017 07:57:41] [SIS]-James.Skirka: What would be the BDMs conditions?
[05.10.2017 08:04:54] [SIS]-James.Skirka: What say you sir?
[05.10.2017 08:05:37] BDM|U-294: ?: I think first, we need a better idea of what exactly you are wanting
[05.10.2017 08:05:56] [SIS]-James.Skirka: We have common enemys no?
[05.10.2017 08:06:15] [SIS]-James.Skirka: Hessians, corsairs, SCRA, Wilde, the Order.
[05.10.2017 08:06:36] BDM|U-294: ?: ja, they are all considered, to various extents, threats to the Republic
[05.10.2017 08:07:14] [SIS]-James.Skirka: There are also rampant crime problems...Smugglers, slavers weapons dealers of various types.
[05.10.2017 08:07:42] BDM|U-294: ?: Indeed, the flow of artifacts through Rheinland is very concerning
[05.10.2017 08:07:58] [SIS]-James.Skirka: These probelms will only ever grow unless something is done. And a unified front is a good start at very least.
[05.10.2017 08:08:03] BDM|U-294: ?: Although I think we have at least managed to halt the flow of Cardamine through our systems
[05.10.2017 08:08:13] [SIS]-James.Skirka: Quite so.
[05.10.2017 08:09:06] [SIS]-James.Skirka: Consider then, regular joint patrols of the deep omega systems. Limited access to each others houses, provided there is a
[05.10.2017 08:09:12] [SIS]-James.Skirka: proper reason to do so.
[05.10.2017 08:09:19] [SIS]-James.Skirka: And the sharing of information.
[05.10.2017 08:09:41] BDM|U-294: ?: Hmm... Mr. Weber and I have already been discussing patrols of the deeper Omegas
[05.10.2017 08:09:56] BDM|U-294: ?: That should be something we can organize easily enough
[05.10.2017 08:11:21] [SIS]-James.Skirka: We can assign officers to act as liaisons to the BDM and vice versa if you wish.
[05.10.2017 08:11:42] BDM|U-294: ?: Ja, that would be a good first step
[05.10.2017 08:12:12] [SIS]-James.Skirka: What can you say about the other two conditions?
[05.10.2017 08:12:47] BDM|U-294: ?: Access to each others houses would... be a big ask, as I doubt I need to say
[05.10.2017 08:13:41] [SIS]-James.Skirka: Quite so, what I mean by that is the right to traverse our respective houses, under escort and with the proper notifications.
[05.10.2017 08:14:17] BDM|U-294: ?: That... could be arranged. No doubt it is hard for you to reach the sigmas, and the Tau's are quite far from us...
[05.10.2017 08:14:48] [SIS]-James.Skirka: Indeed. But that can be a future goal, rather than a pressing current one.
[05.10.2017 08:16:00] [SIS]-James.Skirka: The sharing of information must also remain in scope of current goals. The nature of our work relies heavily on trust, as I'm..
[05.10.2017 08:16:02] [SIS]-James.Skirka: sure you know.
[05.10.2017 08:16:12] BDM|U-294: ?: Verdastanden. Setting up some liason officers and working together winthin the omegas will be a good start
[05.10.2017 08:16:45] [SIS]-James.Skirka: Shall I inform the Director that we have your commitment to such a task?
[05.10.2017 08:17:43] BDM|U-294: ?: Ja, for now. And we shall see how things go from here
[05.10.2017 08:19:09] [SIS]-James.Skirka: Very well. I have been instructed to inform you that should any relevent information pertaining to Rheinland be discovered on..
[05.10.2017 08:19:29] [SIS]-James.Skirka: our end, the SIS will inform you immediatly
[05.10.2017 08:19:52] BDM|U-294: ?: Appreciated, and well will, of course, try and return the favor
[05.10.2017 08:20:24] [SIS]-James.Skirka: Was there anything you wished to discuss with us? since I am here.
[05.10.2017 08:20:45] BDM|U-294: ?: I think you have covered everything, however...
[05.10.2017 08:20:56] [SIS]-James.Skirka: Yes?
[05.10.2017 08:21:01] BDM|U-294: ?: Where you present during the nomad activity in Sigmas-13?
[05.10.2017 08:21:35] [SIS]-James.Skirka: Do you mean me personally? or the SIS?
[05.10.2017 08:21:46] BDM|U-294: ?: You personally, more so
[05.10.2017 08:21:58] [SIS]-James.Skirka: I was, yes. Why do you ask?
[05.10.2017 08:22:18] BDM|U-294: ?: Would you mind giving me a quick report on how thing went from your end?
[05.10.2017 08:22:32] [SIS]-James.Skirka - Ping: 307ms (Max: 1000ms) Fluct: 0ms Loss: 0% (Max: 70%) Lag: n/a
[05.10.2017 08:23:01] [SIS]-James.Skirka: I was on a ranging patrol in Omega-55 when an Agent Lichthammer requested heavy fire support in the Sigmas, I was then
[05.10.2017 08:23:31] [SIS]-James.Skirka: Escorted through Dresden and Frankfurt where I engaged Nomad forces in the Sigma system.
[05.10.2017 08:24:03] [SIS]-James.Skirka: After dealing with those strange creatures, I was escorted back into the Omegas.
[05.10.2017 08:24:22] [SIS]-James.Skirka: I was assured that the BDM had given remote permission for my presence.
[05.10.2017 08:24:35] [SIS]-James.Skirka: Although the Directors were furious with me.
[05.10.2017 08:25:42] BDM|U-294: ?: I see. And I suppose their reaction is quite understandable
[05.10.2017 08:26:05] BDM|U-294: ?: Anything to comment on the aliens themselves?
[05.10.2017 08:26:26] [SIS]-James.Skirka: All SIS agents are given two standing orders when joining sir. Don't get taken alive, and don't ever go to Rheinland.
[05.10.2017 08:26:53] [SIS]-James.Skirka: The aliens themselves? a few notes, although I am hardly an expert.
[05.10.2017 08:27:09] BDM|U-294: ?: A.. laymans... notes would be welcome enough
[05.10.2017 08:28:39] [SIS]-James.Skirka: Nimble, fast and very hard to hit. They don't fly in straight lines, change patterns regularly and seemed to fight
[05.10.2017 08:28:42] [SIS]-James.Skirka: In small packs.
[05.10.2017 08:29:02] [SIS]-James.Skirka: For their size, they packed a hell of a punch as well.
[05.10.2017 08:29:33] [SIS]-James.Skirka: I'm not sure if that's new to you or relevent.
[05.10.2017 08:29:37] [SIS]-James.Skirka: But that's what I noticed
[05.10.2017 08:29:55] BDM|U-294: ?: Any and all data has it's use,
[05.10.2017 08:30:07] BDM|U-294: ?: Ah, guten abend, Libertonian
[05.10.2017 08:30:27] [SIS]-James.Skirka: Yanks...
[05.10.2017 08:31:19] BDM|U-294: ?: Indeed
[05.10.2017 08:31:30] [SIS]-James.Skirka: Well then. I suppose that's it for today then eh.
[05.10.2017 08:31:36] [SIS]-James.Skirka: Nothing else is there?
[05.10.2017 08:31:43] BDM|U-294: ?: Not today, I don't think
[05.10.2017 08:31:51] BDM|U-294: ?: Except for more paperwork....
[05.10.2017 08:32:05] [SIS]-James.Skirka: Very well. I wish you safe travels.
[05.10.2017 08:32:11] BDM|U-294: ?: And you too.
