Frank scooped water up from the sink, leaned over and splashed it onto his face a few times. He looked up and into the eyes of the image in the mirror in front of him. His thought wandered into an inventory of recent events.
He had lost a few pounds, there were heavy dark bags under his eyes. The months of constant flying were taking their toll on him physically. He had spent a month or more hunting down some tips Sunny had gotten on some derelict space stations with valuable Intel of some sort or another.
He knew it was punishment for mouthing off at him in the Cherry lounge. But he decided to take it in stride. He had needed a break from the carnage he was seeing on Leeds. He also managed to make a fair amount of credits off of gig. Finding 4 stations, and only telling Sunny about 3 of them, he made enough off of the Data on the one he kept quiet to help him fund his latest move. The time he spent surveying deep space had helped him get a clear picture as to how he felt and what he was going to do about it.
The first part of his plan had come to fruition at the cost of 750million credits. That thought brought him back out of his starring contest with himself. He blinked a few times, yawned and then grabbed the comb of off the sink and combed his hair back and straightened out his beard.
A slight bleeping sound chirped twice from the speaker in the bathroom.
He finished checking him self out in the mirror. He decided he looked better than he felt. "Go ahead" he said out loud.
"Sir..." a monotone voice started emanating from the speaker "..station security request a personal validation on a vessel requesting docking rights...it is the AFC-..."
"All AFC ships are to be granted docking rights." His reply was short and to the point. The crew of the station was still getting used to the change of ownership. There had been some house cleaning and by the end of the week 90% of the stations crew will have been replaced. "Hold all communications till I reach my office."
"Understood.."
He would have all day to authorize and sign things. He figured it would take a few more months before things settled into routine. It was costly, but much better situated to resupplying the resistance on Leeds. He still needed to figure out a few things, but all in all he knew things were as good as could be under the circumstances.
