Adrian 'Shadow' Wright
Neural Net Log
Entry #OD003

Those Bounty Hunters really getting annoying. It hasn't passed even two minutes before our wing encountered a patrol of BH, which was successfully eliminated. Everything was fine, Amos had already reported about few hunters patrols, looks like our flight was successful. We were heading back to Isis when we picked thin alarm beacon signal. All wing stopped, one by one.
Alarm beacon - a rare thing, sending a SOS signal in 20k radius. Don't reply on this signal - is even worse then let your friend die in front of you. Only the last coward can fly nearby and don't pay any attention to it. These things are made for military expeditions, but for some time traders for a crazy amount of credits sold them to some freelancers.
So, when we have picked the signal, i said on private radio channel:
- Alpha, split and search the area. Whoever activated the beacon, we must find him and help. I think nomads can arrive soon to his position, so move quickly. Wright out.
- Roger that, Alpha leader!
I've headed to north. Soon the signal was picking up more loud and clear. Artur, which headed to the west, said the same. Looks like this unknown ship was shot by someone near the Unknown jumphole. Strange.
After one or two minutes of flying, we had this ship in sights. This was a liberty Mammoth, carrying alot of nomads of various types and a lot of artifacts.
- Well, well, well, who do we have here, - I said, - a Liberty transport in the middle of Order space with activated alarm beacon?
- Sir, what are your orders now?
- It look like a scientist ship after all. We can use it.
- Take him to Toledo?
- No. First scan him, he can have a hidden tracer or a long-range data transmitter. Just a tricky way to scout our territory. Send for the M26, we'll take this guy there. There we can provide more deeper scanning.
- Roger. How do we transfer him to M26?
- Simple. Take him in one of the escape pods and jettison, M26 captain will tractor it.
- Understood.
Soon one of us departed to Toledo, I took this 'scientist' and went to cargo hold, to look on this guy.
This man looked like 40-standard years old professor of some research institute, a little tired of life, with a bunch of wrinkles on his face. Well, he'll probably be useful, if he is so clever as he looks. I gently put the body in one of the escape pods, and readied it to successful dropping.
- Alright, head to Toledo. Doc's ready for a little fly in a pod.
After few minutes we arrived at Toledo. In a couple of minutes an M26 gunboat launched and headed to ours position.
- M26 here. Well, drop this doc. Let's see, what he carries.
- Roger.
I pushed the drop button, and looked how pod flyed out. Then light-blue colored beam took scientist inside ship's cargo hold.
- Great work, guys. We'll take care about him and transfer data about him in few standard hours. M26 out.
- Roger that. Alpha, land on Isis.
Few seconds later...
- Isis? This is Alpha leader, requesting permission to dock...
