30 minutes after Kyle's message was recorded
La Tramontane, l'Ane-class Gallic Brigand transport

The Gaul appeared outside the kitchen shortly afterwards and walked over to Kyle: "I instructed my crew to leave your things on the cargo bay. I told them to stay there until we were finished. I'll show you the way." He then began showing the way down the narrow corridors of the ship, and Kyle followed without saying a word. Despite maintaining a calm expression on his face as he walked, his mind was still back in the room. He couldn't throw the picture out of his mind: his girlfriend kissing that old geezer in front of him as it was nothing, all the while trying to save the Gaul from the emotional strain of learning about her history with Kyle. He knew that Kiara wasn't herself, but it didn't help much to ease the pain.

Kyle was deep in thoughts, so the trip to the cargo bay seemed a short one. Only then was Kyle distracted from his thoughts and could pay attention to the surroundings. That area of the ship wasn't very full, for the size of the transport. It had a few crates and boxes here and there, but nothing out of the ordinary. There were also two more people here, already waiting: the man who had frisked Kyle, along with another brigand.

Remy lead Kyle up to the two men. One of them extended the laser pistol to Kyle. It was disarmed; the battery was gone, but Kyle couldn't be picky and took it: "I know you're being cautious, and I respect that, but could you at least toss me the battery once I'm out of here? It'll be hard to find a spare for my spare in Gallia. Also, that's not all what I had when I was entering the ship," he reminded Remy of the stun baton.

"Where did you leave the rest of his things?" Remy asked the two men. They pointed at one of the boxes, near the door Remy and Kyle had come in through. Intent on walking towards the box, Kyle turned on it, but then a thought flashed across his mind: why didn't they give him the baton straight away without the power cell, like they did to the gun? Feeling something off, he turned back to ask that, only to feel the thug's hands on his throat. Of course, Kyle should've expected that after he hadn't complied with Remy's demands of not telling Kiara too much. Now he was weaponless, up against three people, some of whom could be armed. His only hope was the Cardamine that he had taken earlier.

The reflexes played their role at the beginning of the encounter. The thug didn't expect Kyle to turn around again and was countng on the element of surprise. That wasn't the case; even though Kyle's mouth did open widely as he gasped for air, but the Outcast was at least prepared and thought on his feet. With a slight move of his fingers Kyle made the barrel of the pistol slip in his right hand, as his left hand tried to drag one of the Brigand's hands away from his throat. It took only moments for the Brigand to realize that something was wrong, but then the handle of the empty laser pistol landed on his temple, knocking him out instantly.

His throat now free, Kyle had to rub it with his free hand as he took in a breath, his posture now crooked. However, the fight was not over, and adrenaline mixed with Cardamine made him turn his attention to the next enemy. That was the other of the two Remy's thugs. His role was apparently to help draging off the unconscious Sirian nuisance to some hidden place on the transport. He didn't expect his accomplice to fail, but he wouldn't be a successful criminal if he weren't able to expect the unexpected.

Seeing his fellow brigand collapsing on the floor, that man didn't waste time to try and draw his gun from a holster on his belt. However, the element of surprise was now in Kyle's favour, even if only for the next moment. Realizing that he wouldn't get to his opponent in time, even with his speed and reflexes, he did the only thing he could do: throwing a useless laser pistol at the opponent's forehead, hoping to keep him staggered until Kyle could close the distance and grab his gun.

The plan worked out, but not to the extent Kyle was hoping for. The laser pistol did reach his opponent's forehead, but only after he had taken out his own gun. As the brigand fell on the floor, not unconscious, but still incapacitated, Kyle rushed for the fallen brigand's gun. He only had seconds at best. However, that's when Remy stepped in the way, forcing Kyle to stop his attempt.

Weaponless, Kyle looked at his very own stun baton in Remy's hands. The baton was telescopic, so it could be extended and become a relatively long club. The tip of it emitted quite a few sparks as the baton was turned on. Kyle briefly looked down, but even with his reflexes he wouldn't be able to get the weapon out of the holster of a knocked-out Brigand who had tried to choke him. Not before Remy would reach Kyle with the baton.

Out of options, Kyle grabbed the only object that he had left in his pocket: a Cardamine inhaler. "So that's how it's going down, huh?" He tried to keep Remy talking, and hopefully, distracted. However, the Gaul ignored the Outcast's remarks, wanting to get him out of the way as soon as possible. Without giving Kyle any time to try to react and fight back, he tried to reach him with the baton. Kyle anticipated the movement, but the short distance made sure that Remy grazed him before Kyle could dodge the hit entirely. The electricity had done it's job: Kyle lost orientation and speed as he tried to back away, and Remy capitalized on it by prodding him with the stun baton again. Then everything went black and Kyle collapsed on the floor.
