Kyle was lying on the floor of the escape pod compartment, watching as the Gaul was about to prod him with his own stun baton. At least this time Kiara didn't kiss the old geezer in front of him, and even tried to stop Remy. Yet again, it was all to no avail. As Kyle's eyes were closing and he was about to black out, he realized that they had already been closed. Confused, he tried to open his eyes.

He woke up in cold sweat and with a feeling of hunger in his stomach. His once healthy and shaved face was now pale and covered with a week-old stubble. What's worse, nothing about his predicament had changed: the same dim light, 4 metallic walls, a slab, a toilet bowl, and a sliding door with a window with bars. An escape attempt was nothing but a dream.

As soon as Remy was certain that the Sirian was really incapacitated, he turned to the only of his two men who hadn't fallen unconscious during the fight and instructed him to tie the Outcast and lock him in one of the unused rooms on the ship until they would reach Boulogne. The Gaul then looked over a few of the boxes in the cargo bay, until he found the one with the Nox syringes. He took one of them with him and left the cargo bay.

Aurora Moreau was looking through the window in her room at the beautiful blue nebula in the Provence system. She was thinking over the events of the day, concerned with what she had learned and how Remy reacted to the news, but also hopeful that she'd get the answers soon. As she heard the door open behind her, she turned around. It was Remy, her husband, standing in the doorway. Aurora smiled happily.
