Hitting cruise to catch up an afterburnering pilot

The GC was flying along the TL until it got killed.. I turned around and saw you to the LEFT of the TL (so not at the place where we parted), I did not see the AFA at that moment => hence I assumed you were not fighting anyone, the fight was "over" and I can cruise to come to you.

If the AFA was indeed still fighting you it might have been against the rules, even though they don't say anything about groups, from the view of my fighter we were not in a fight any longer.
