Hitting cruise to catch up an afterburnering pilot

If you saw me you saw the AFA because he was with me the whole time and I was never far enough away to be off scanners, but even assuming somehow you missed him then you would have seen him when you hit cruise and intercepted us, right?

no I didn't not see him since you were 10k so just on the edge of scanner range. I saw him when I came to you, but I didn't take care where he was the entire time since at least one other ship cruise with me from the dead GC to you.

When you did notice the AFA who was right there with me, you didn't think you might have violated the cruise to catch up rule then?

If the fight goes two directions is using cruise to get back to the other direction illegal?

That's kind of the problem... as I said I didn't know he was with you and when I came I didn't try to find out where he was the whole time.

From the point of view of my ship there was no fight at that point, since you have "left" the fight by not shooting me, while I have "left" the fight shooting at your buddy.
I can't say who is "leaving to run" in this situation. You can argue it's me since I "run" from you . I can argue it's you since you left our fight with the GC.
