Sunny wouldn't be amused as he watched Gambit leave. Sure, people had their own ideas and opinions but this was an open discussion and nothing was yet decided. As he watched him get up and walking out on everyone, seeing also some guys trying to grab him to bring him back, Sunny motioned him to let him go. It was Gambit's choice in the matter.
"As much as I dislike Gambit's attitude, he and Christo have a bit of a point in this. It's not the best solution to take immediate action on the Unioners. We've got the weaponry and power, but we should be careful how we use it, and when. We currently have two projects that are linked together about the NEMP bomb. It's best that we don't pull the trigger unless it is absolutely necessary. We didn't have the bomb before and we could take care of our issues to a certain degree. Now we just have to organize and think about our counter to all of this.
"I've been thinking what to do about Bering. What I do not agree with is that whether you like it or not, Bering Chapter needs a location to park and some privacy for in-chapter matters, possible research, storage, partying, and discussion. It's not simply a location to refuel. Granted, we did not have much presence in Bering, but that was not necessary for us to operate. We frankly didn't need to be well known in the area. Simply to exist. Now, that's gone and the strategic point is gone with it. We cannot discredit Bering's involvement and we cannot tell them to go to hell either. When a chapter is under threat, we need to respond. We may just be a fighter club, but we deserve the respect from others around us.
"First thing is first. We need to relocate our assets and strengthen Bering's hold on their territory. Trying to remember the star maps, I'd say we have a few options for an immediate fix. The first would be a temporary stay at Heisenberg Research Station in Koeln. Second option would be somewhere in the Omegas. The thing is, there is not a lot of options right now. I am hoping though that this may be something for the better. IF we can accomplish the plan we have regarding Heaven's Gate, we'll be able to potentially make a location for Bering on that new ship, place it wherever we want too."
Sunny sighed, taking another puff from his cigar. He folded his hands together and rested his elbows on the table.
"As for the Unioners, we wait. Let them make the first move on us. I'll contact the Hogosha soon to suggest raiding Puerto Rico. We will see, perhaps, what the counter to our move will be. Let's be clear on one thing, though. We're not friends with the Unioners any longer. They back-stabbed us and didn't show interest in our simple request to maintain our stay on the station. Sooner or later, they will get what's coming to them. For now, as suggested, we focus on rebuilding and jabbing at them. It's wrong to show major signs of weakness.
"For the Bering Chapter Official, since Gambit has resigned, we'll need to see who can take care of that." Sunny turns to Curtis. "Perhaps you'd be interested to hold the fort till we figure out something better."
