[Chrysalis]

The Raven's Talon glided through space. Inside it, Hussaini sat immobile, hands crossed and eyes closed. He too was much changed. Crystalline growths, akin to glowing veins grew over the wall panels and between the delicate electronics. They pulsated a purple glow in the dimly lit conditions of his cockpit. He sat beneath them, his face and closed eyelids illuminated by each pulsing glow. He looked peaceful and inert, almost as if dead. Only his slightly moving chest suggested otherwise. A long tube descended from the roof and ended at his neck.

For the past day, he had been following it. The murmur, the buzzing melody, like a swarm of worker bees coming from the distance. The signal had been strong and direct, and he knew that it was complete. He knew that it was time to do what had to be done. Entering the system, he felt the call all throughout his body. He knew that it was close, and that it was calling out to him. He inhaled sharply, his eyes opened wide.

As he entered the Asteroid's orbit, he was positively thrilled, almost euphoric at what was about to transpire. The Talon drifted further, almost too close, the ship's display flashed a red warning. He kept the course despite it. It had to be here. And before he could even doubt his decision, it happened, the cloaked entrance revealed itself and the ship flew in. It passed through the initial levels, through the darkness, further into the depths. And passing through the final hatch, entering the Halls, he was almost blinded by light.

As his eyes readjusted, he observed the marvel of this hidden world. The Works that the Doctor performed in his absence. The shifting buildings, their geometry complimenting their function. The drones buzzing all around, their number beyond counting. He beheld, and saw that it was good. His ship hovered above the landing pad for a few seconds before descending. He got up from his seat. The ship touched down, and the cockpit opened upwards. The tube uncoupled from his neck and retreated automatically. He ran his hand over the back of his neck, turned and jumped out.

He felt the Doctor's presence as his feet hit the ground. The path was clear. He locked his eyes on the monumental building before him, and started walking.
