I take it you are refering to the Defilers, represented by a certain Redridge. A guy named Nick Stenn informed me about this posting on Barrier Gate Station of this Redridge guy who wants to find out who opened the Vault. One would assume the guy can add one and one together to figure out himself the Core managed to do it. After all the station was in their territory.

If you want to strike a good deal, tell Redridge about this. Sell him the information, maybe you can get a part of the cake as well. All I got from this was a bunch of scientific data that still needs to be processed and filtered for actually useful information. What I would like to know, however, is who the Defilers are and who exactly the 'boss' of Redridge is. I've seen the Defilers myself in Cambridge, they were pirating the Bretonia Merchant Navy and had to realize they made a mistake in doing so. However, the interesting part about it is the fact that the Defilers were able to call in reinforcements out of nowhere, possibly using a beacon. As you mentioned, they were using untypical technologies.
