- Captain Lindford. - Adrian Malprave turned to Jade noticing her hostility and replied - At 2000 hours an Obliterator drone uncloaked in the middle of Legion's battlegroup and after reaching optimal position detonated its NEMP payload annihilating instantly half of the enemy forces. There is no defense against this weapon and in similar scenario in future we might utilize two subsequent drone strikes to make sure that all enemy combatants are eliminated. While it is in fact very expensive weapon, our warhead stockpiles are sufficient to warrant relaxed deployment policy. - Lane Hacker paused and turned again to the Admiral.
- It is my primary objective to provide you with counsel on our strategic position and our expectations concerning you as our allies. The Professorship believes that by providing you with the maximum of disclosable information you will be able to better assess your situation and develop your future strategy with full awareness of its broader ramifications. - Adrian Malprave once again switched on the holographic projector.
A large two-dimensional map of House Liberty with its adjacent systems appeared over the table.
A Lane Hacker stood up and started his presentation while pointing our relevant parts of the map.
- Our position in Northern Liberty is unchallenged. Low presence of Liberty forces, minimal operations of Kusarians and miniscule Xenos activity paired with good connections to the Kusari underworld make this region controlled entirely by us and our closest allies. At the same time southern Liberty is in the hands of Liberty Rogues, Unioners, Junkers and since last year also Battlegroup Harmony. As you well know all of these groups are either allies or close business partners of The Lane Hackers. Eastern Liberty frontier is the backyard of Liberty forces and in general remains of little interest to our organization. Western frontier can be divided into three zones. Relatively peaceful Coronado passage remains mostly untouched by war. We have developed understanding with most local groups there and do no have enemies in the region. War zone stretching from Leeds to California, contrary to the common belief, is relatively safe area for our operations. In the face of imminent combat both sides of the conflict usually choose to ignore our operations in this arena. I have personally flown once within one click from the concentration of Liberty forces preparing to meet Gallic invasion. Not a single fighter broke formation. Currently, Liberty forces are focused almost entirely on repelling the Gallic invasion, which leaves the core house space relatively unprotected and prone to our operations. The only thorn in our back is the lair of Hellfire Legion in Vespucci and Kansas, strategically located near the most valuable mineable deposits in Liberty.
Adrian Malprave finished his presentation, sat down and exhaled seemingly exhausted by explanations.
- In short, the only real threat we currently face is the Hellfire Legion. As our former closest allies, they know us well and understand the ways in which we operate. They also hold control over the most lucrative mining operations within Liberty and continuously go out of their way to seek and attack our operatives.
The Lane Hacker envoy looked on each of the officers sitting at the table for a brief moment before speaking again with a much stricter tone.
- This is why I kindly request a debriefing on the current state of relations between the Battlegroup Harmony and the Hellfire Legion.
