'Ah told you yer' had free reign to enforce your laws within your territory without breaking the entente. Unioners know the risks. They take those risks and you catch them? Your land, your rules.

I expect the same privilege in return. 'Ah am enforcing that privilage on the captain of your warship that violated a no-fly-zone and pointed heavy ordinance at non-combatants.

'Ahm going to keep you briefed. There's a datapad on my desk ordering pre-position of MOX fuel dumps to North Texas. I will order a good half of Pacifica's standby flotilla up to Texas, for jump prep to Kansas, whereupon they will proceed to America Freeport an' start blowing off modules. You sanction non-combatant targets an' I will enact total war before you can jump to attention and spit-polish your jackboots. We have both the resources an' the time to do this. You haven't seen our militarised cells yet. You will. We'll be sendin' battle-hardened veterans of the Omega war right at you, in new equipment constructed for that war which never reached the lines. You will have a goddamn problem.

I'm hoping it won't come to that. This is not a threat, this is a brief. This is the contingency plan we've had in place for several months should compellin' evidence be found that the Legion is in danger of conductin' a strike on the general wealthfare of the Bering noncombatant zone.


I wanna' form detente between the Syndicate body an' yer goverment because, unlike what the Hackers think, that yer' cause improves Liberty for the better an' I'm not interested in particularly helpin' the Liberty Navy fight their daemons. You are near-universally liked by the Unioner population despite a year of more-or-less stabbin' us in the kidneys an' trying to force our allies, who wouldn't be around without our support, to abandon us. That's not gonna' fly. There is no scenario where you take that road and come out shining. Now, I'm prepared to offer logistical support, tactical co-ordination and do my damndest to discourage the Unioner undercells from conductin' piracy in Texas if I can your word that you're not goin' to exploit the situation to do us damage.


Lemmie' put it this way. 'We are in the process of attemptin' to help the Separatists supply their fortifications an' have been doin' a considerable amount of engineerin' work on their behalf. Now, we produce most of the supplies they require, but not all of them. Some of them are Bretonian-beholden. Hellfire Legion space sits between what the Seperatists need and what we can provide. I need peace with you, to help our mutual friends.


We helped the Seperatists when it was disadvantageous for us to do so. Now that we've built them to strength, it's mighty convenient that the Legion starts pulling out all the stops. Are they a more politically palletable replacement for what we were to you back in the townships of Guadalajara?

Consider one thing, Dalgaard. We've got no beef with the middle man. We want to harm the top. It is an unfortunate fact of reality that the men at the top place the poor between them, us, and their wealth. We are not monsters and we do not destroy escape pods. We are not killers, we are after machines, and the money. We do not rob the little men, we rob bulk transporters. We have not broken the terms that we outlined. We're always clear on that. We're after the money, an' I will be the first to incarcerate whatever dog claims they're in it for the joy of the kill. Now. Your battleship pointed its guns at civilians. There was no higher agenda. There was no higher purpose. There was no sense of risk, just the exercise of blunt force to make a point. Now that, Dalgaard, disgusts me. That is the definition of terrorism, irrespective as to if you wear a uniform or not.


Do some soul-searchin', Dalgaard - if ya' searchin' for a Cassius Belli you're not going to get one from us. If you want a war, say it to our faces.

I will make sacrifices for peace. I am even prepared to negotiate unfavourable terms, such as restorin' the Legion's access to Pacifica's shipyard and mooring services for better co-ordination between the Legion and the Separatists. We could be your greatest asset in the Liberty eastern borderworlds rather than an audience for the drum drum and fife.

But if you make peace impossible, you'd be better prepared to do more than posture. You'd better be prepared to fight with every breath in your body because once you cross the Rubicon, you do not paddle back.


What will it be? I'm opening this transmission up to the Separatists so they can view this and form their own conclusions. Not just Harmony. The full separatist administrative body, including the Freeport Two administration who would be impacted by any undue war. Perhaps Knight's kin can give us all some situational sanity. You do not get to shuffle your cards in the dark anymore. The chips are down.
