Cataclysm

We left New Tokyo's orbit and I looked out the window at the marvelous sights that my eyes never beheld before. The planet I was born on became smaller and smaller. Then it happened.

Out of nowhere radiant creatures appeared, graceful and beautiful. They moved around the escorting fighters and opened fire, quickly dispatching them. I watched from the windows as they closed in on our transport vessel and saw a bright flash as their weapons hit our shield. Shin took me into the reinforced compartment, just before the automatic emergency doors closed. We heard more and more flashes as the shields began to fail. Then it became silent...

Suddenly I heard a loud explosion and I was hit hard against the side of the room. I was dazed for a moment and looked around me. I realised I was covered in blood.
Shin's head laid beside me. The force of the impact had decapitated him and left his body as a bloody mess against the wall. I looked down and saw that I myself did not leave unscathed. I had a large cut across my abdomen and it was bleeding badly. I did not dare to look at my injury long, because it made me feel sick from what I saw. I prayed that someone would take me away from this nightmare.

But no one came...

The clock was knocked from the wall so I had no idea how long it took, but I felt like it took hours.
There I sat in my tomb, or what I would later call my cradle. Every heartbeat was bringing me closer to death 'immortality'. With each movement, I spilled my blood on the floor 'purified my body'. Every breath was the same smell of blood 'my sacrifice'. There I sat in total desolation 'together'.

It was becoming harder to breathe... The oxygen supply must have ran out.
I heard her voice as my 'mortal' vision started to fade.
She said: "Just as the creatures of light emerged from the shadows, so shall the shadow emerge from the light."

And thus I died 'was reborn'.
