After Action Report | Javier Santana | Cardamine Hauler Hospitaliano | 825 AS |

Outbound and Return #417 both were uninteresting flights. Cargo delivered and scrap returned without issue save for a minor disciplinary matter with two of the loading-crew in the lower hold.

Return #417 had us spot a few GMG vessels at about 16k from our position on our way out of the Sigmas- that being the case, my XO and myself decided that the Sigma-route would be a poor choice for #418 - so we requisitioned a brief hull inspection to be sure we're prepared for any asteroid impacts - and got ready for a run through the Taus.

We made a brief pit-stop at Freeport 6 to have a bulkhead inspected following a small impact when we came across a vessel marked the Ibn Battuta- a freelancer ship that was searching for work. On a whim, I inquired about the Nox our friends in the BDM were after- turns out the crew was interested and capable of getting ahold of a few cases so we sent them on their way with the promise of payment.

After the completion of Return #418, we loaded up on another stockpile of Cardamine - intentionally leaving some space in the cargo hold for the fruits of our new friend's labors - afterwards heading off to rendezvous at Freeport 10 as the agreed meeting point with the freelancers.

After only a few hours of waiting on the mooring-arm, in-flies the Battuta- way earlier than expected with our cargo of Nox in tow. Initially the plan was to short the freelancers on their payment so as to not dip too deeply into operational funds but with their quick response to our request- shorting them didn't quite feel right. We've been in the green on credits allocated for repairs since we started operations again so, we'll go ahead and call it a "maintenence fee" just to keep things squared.

Having now completed Outbound #419, we're now waiting on Beaumont for a stable connection through to Rheinland territory to inform the BDM agents of their inbound acquisition. Here's hoping this earns us a few favors in return.

As always: the Relevant data-packets are attached below for record keeping,

Initial Contact:
[12.03.2018 03:09:02] NC-ET-Hospitaliano: Javier: Ciao- freelancer
[12.03.2018 03:09:17] CSSV-Ibn.Battuta: W: Ah, hello.
[12.03.2018 03:10:06] NC-ET-Hospitaliano: Javier: Interesting uh... ship you've there amico... any reason you have no armament?
[12.03.2018 03:10:53] CSSV-Ibn.Battuta: ?: I find it makes many otherwise hostile groups reconsider their choice to shoot me.
[12.03.2018 03:11:34] NC-ET-Hospitaliano: Javier: Interesting choice I suppose. If it works, it works.
[12.03.2018 03:11:50] CSSV-Ibn.Battuta: W: Certainly does.
[12.03.2018 03:12:05] NC-ET-Hospitaliano: Javier: What brings your ilk here then? Kinda a desolate place
[12.03.2018 03:12:28] CSSV-Ibn.Battuta: W: Currently conducting stellar surveys of the Border and Edge Worlds. We're a science vessel, you see.
[12.03.2018 03:13:33] NC-ET-Hospitaliano: Javier: So I do...
[12.03.2018 03:14:02] NC-ET-Hospitaliano: Javier: As it happens I actually could use some individuals like you. How are you for freelance work?
[12.03.2018 03:14:13] CSSV-Ibn.Battuta: W: It's our lifeblood.
[12.03.2018 03:15:24] NC-ET-Hospitaliano: Javier: Good good... Lets take this away from the Freeport... sensor arrays of impartial locations. The less this is spread around the--
[12.03.2018 03:15:26] NC-ET-Hospitaliano: better.
[12.03.2018 03:15:48] CSSV-Ibn.Battuta: W: Copy that. I'll follow your lead.
[12.03.2018 03:19:05] NC-ET-Hospitaliano: Javier: Righto. Now then-- What do you know of Cardamine amico?
[12.03.2018 03:19:31] CSSV-Ibn.Battuta: W: Quite a bit. Worked with a great deal of groups that dealt with the drug on the reg.
[12.03.2018 03:20:49] NC-ET-Hospitaliano: Javier: Si, si - thats good thats good... The Cardamine trade is a powerful thing in this sector amico
[12.03.2018 03:21:41] NC-ET-Hospitaliano: Javier: It's not the only drug exchange around though- something I think you can guess we have a vested interest in
[12.03.2018 03:22:57] NC-ET-Hospitaliano: Javier: Now. Gallia's explosive intrusion into Sirius was a shock to us all but... Not as much as it's effect on Sirius' economies
[12.03.2018 03:23:40] NC-ET-Hospitaliano: Javier: And the drug trade is very much an economy
[12.03.2018 03:24:29] NC-ET-Hospitaliano: Javier: Nox- a substance made in Gallia has had something of an effect on the drug trade in these parts- not a large one mind
[12.03.2018 03:24:51] NC-ET-Hospitaliano: but enough of one for eyebrows to be raised. Interests to be piqued, and curiosity to be expressed
[12.03.2018 03:25:06] CSSV-Ibn.Battuta: W: I've seen a vial or two in my time.
[12.03.2018 03:25:27] NC-ET-Hospitaliano: Javier: Good, that makes things easier then- you know what you're after.
[12.03.2018 03:25:37] NC-ET-Hospitaliano: Javier: How easily do you think you can get ahold of a few cases?
[12.03.2018 03:26:16] CSSV-Ibn.Battuta: W: Well... I'll have to dredge up some contacts from the old days. But I can get a hearty sampling.
[12.03.2018 03:27:22] NC-ET-Hospitaliano: Javier: Fantastico-- 10 cases should be more than plenty for our purposes.
[12.03.2018 03:27:37] CSSV-Ibn.Battuta: W: What's the pay?
[12.03.2018 03:28:01] NC-ET-Hospitaliano: Javier: How does around 20 million credits sound?
[12.03.2018 03:28:29] CSSV-Ibn.Battuta: W: *He confers with other crew members for a brief moment, before turning back* Sounds good to us.
[12.03.2018 03:29:12] NC-ET-Hospitaliano: Javier: Excelente-- I take it this can be done quickly then?
[12.03.2018 03:29:38] CSSV-Ibn.Battuta: W: Within twenty-four hours. I'll need contact info and a place to drop it, though.
[12.03.2018 03:30:09] NC-ET-Hospitaliano: Javier: That depends-- whats your relative standing with the Maltese IFF system?
[12.03.2018 03:30:23] NC-ET-Hospitaliano: Javier: would our patrols flag you as hostile?
[12.03.2018 03:30:36] CSSV-Ibn.Battuta: W: Negative. Your patrols out here don't seem to care much.
[12.03.2018 03:31:51] CSSV-Ibn.Battuta: W: Hopefully any ships in your home system won't give me trouble for hauling Nox.
[12.03.2018 03:32:15] NC-ET-Hospitaliano: Javier: We'll err on the side of caution then and say Freeport 10-- wouldn't want my new amigo getting fired on for --
[12.03.2018 03:32:20] NC-ET-Hospitaliano: silly reasons now would we?
[12.03.2018 03:32:33] CSSV-Ibn.Battuta: W: Of course. Works for me.
[12.03.2018 03:33:08] NC-ET-Hospitaliano: Javier: Perfecto-- I must be off then, ping Javier Santana when you've got what you're after, and we'll arrange a time,
[12.03.2018 03:33:10] NC-ET-Hospitaliano: comprende?
[12.03.2018 03:33:17] CSSV-Ibn.Battuta: W: Copy that.
[12.03.2018 03:33:37] NC-ET-Hospitaliano: Javier: Safe skies then amigo-- We must be going~
[12.03.2018 03:33:42] CSSV-Ibn.Battuta: W: Safe skies.

Upon completion of mission:
[12.03.2018 04:37:37] NC-ET-Hospitaliano: Javier: Amigo-- your timing is impressive
[12.03.2018 04:37:45] CSSV-Ibn.Battuta: W: What can I say? I have my ways.
[12.03.2018 04:37:59] NC-ET-Hospitaliano: Javier: I was expecting this to take longer. Good for you on that front
[12.03.2018 04:38:07] CSSV-Ibn.Battuta: W: Of course, I did have to run the blockade in Languedoc to make good time.
[12.03.2018 04:38:55] NC-ET-Hospitaliano: Javier: Well, im sure my employer appreciates your risks
[12.03.2018 04:39:09] CSSV-Ibn.Battuta: W: Hope he does. I'm beaming the contents to you now.
[12.03.2018 04:39:33] CSSV-Ibn.Battuta: W: And now, the payment, of course.
[12.03.2018 04:40:05] NC-ET-Hospitaliano: Javier: As promised - your compensation.
[12.03.2018 04:40:05] CSSV-Ibn.Battuta: W: Transaction successful. Pleasure doing business with you.
[12.03.2018 04:40:28] NC-ET-Hospitaliano: Javier: Likewise. We'll be keeping your people in mind next time we need something discreetly.
[12.03.2018 04:40:20] CSSV-Ibn.Battuta: W: By the way, I don't think we ever exchanged names.
[12.03.2018 04:40:54] NC-ET-Hospitaliano: Javier Santana, Armando-family Transport Hospitaliano.
