He stared at the image of the red eagle for a few seconds. Red eagle - roter Adler, or rather 'Rote Adler'. While he was aware of the connection between this militant guerilla troup from Nuremberg and the Bundschuh, he obviously needed to look into it a little further - and he had to do it quickly before being sent out to Bruchsal. He would have liked to avoid that trip, but in this case he had been outsmarted, there was no way around it. He answered the news that he would be piloting the freighter with a quick nod.
As the door behind him unlocked he turned to leave, already in thoughts, when Haupt hit him again. 'Your superior'.
“Oh I'm sure that he will find out very soon. I'll improvise.” He would never improvise. “I'll lay low until I receive further instructions, Frau Generalministerin.”
Fischer stepped out into the hallway, past the guard that couldn't help but stare at the man that occupied this much of Nika Haupts' time without getting thrown out - at least not in the literal sense. Fischer came to the conclusion that he would count this meeting as a partial success. Promises have been made, now it's time to deliver.
'Explain to your superior what you just did' He rolled his eyes. He had to work with superiors like Wolf for his entire career. As if that was the part to worry about.
