"Au contraire... my good brothers... one more thing.."

The scenery reshaped itself as both of them found themselves in the hall of an elegant victorian house. There was a brief moment of silence, followed only by the gurgling of boiling water coming from the nearby opened kitchen.

"Come in good friends.. please!"

The voice sounded more human and natural as how Dave used to be years ago. They both walked in carefully, seeing Synk preparing some tea. He was well dressed, baring the traditional Bretonian vest, half sleeved shirts. On his lower left pocket there was the smooth chain of a small watch. By their surprise, not seeing his face for a long time, they were a bit in awe. Bassam's apparent cold attitude turned slightly warmer as Nomak was definitely glad to see his old friend good and filled with life.

"It's cozy right?" Dave turned to them offering them a bright and wide smile. He looked perfect. No scars, no signs of implants or other deformities. "It is a dream? Perhaps... or perhaps not. What is a dream in it's essence? Isn't it something you want to always... feel? Tranquility?"

He poured in two solid white mugs some tea for both of them, making them a sublime sign that they could enjoy their drinks. Then the sound of someone coming down the stairs was followed by a suave feminine voice.

"Dave? Did you took your coat from Marcus'? He was supposed to bring it to you today, my love."

"Yes I did my dear... we have guests."

A young lady came entering the kitchen. She was very chiseled, a long curled blonde hair with piercing blue eyes. She wore a victorian style dress, long and elegant with smooth white embroidery around her neck, but distant enough from it, showing a decent cleavage.

"My friends, let me introduce to you my beautiful spouse... Ashley"

Upon hearing the name, both Nomak and Bassam were surprised in a very uncanny way. They knew who Ashley was and what meant for Dave. She was the tragic reason he started to follow the path of seeking knowledge and answers.

She smiled.

"Good evenin' lads. Dave told me a lot of great things about you.." She came near him giving him a kiss on his right cheek. Then Dave made a hand sign freezing her.

"What is the Great Work about... after all my brothers. Look at her. She is perfect. Every detail of it, perfectly recreated by the NGM. All of my memories embodied in this... construct. You might taste your tea... you wonder it's real tea? It is as real as you desire it to be. After all.. the Great Work isn't achieving what we dream, each in our own way.. to reach perfection and in the end... happiness?"

He made a pause smiling to them.

"No my dear friend Bassam. I never forgot what the Great Work is. The Great Work is whatever you wish it to be... search in your minds and you will see the very thing in front of you. It is... whatever you imagine it to be. Who can judge and tell you what is the reality or not? It is subjective. Perhaps... our Gods that's how they live now too. Perhaps the Light... that's how it continues to flicker on and on."

He took a sip of his tea and fidgeted with his small pocket watch.

"Imagine now all of this construct filled with the minds of our Sirian kin.. in unity... in peace... in harmony." He smiled widely.

Rudimentary creatures of blood and flesh, you touch my mind, fumbling in ignorance, incapable of understanding.
