Somewhere along the lines we reached the consensus that a general ration of 4:1 should be ideally maintained between Capital ships and Fighter/Bombers; otherwise it could be construed as capwhoring.

So what you are saying is that capwhoring is a ratio issue, and not necessarily a Role Play issue, right?

Gosh, all this fuss by you over a non RP issue that is pretty much meanigless.:)

Buddy, the reason the LSF would bother a capship in Liberty is because if they don't automatically recognize it it's probably hostile.

If it's a liberty ship with a liberty ID that allows cap ships, it's not hostile, it's friendly, just like if I'm in Task Force 70 and we dock in a harbor with ships from Task Force 76.

It doesn't always happen

In fact it rarely happens anywhere. It's a non issue, but it's a good excuse for a power grab by a few who want to dictate the server to everyone else.
