Below you will find the most important activities during my limited flight schedule of the past few weeks.
Cooperation with DHC
While visiting Diamond Star modular base in Omega-11 system, I encountered DHC-Kiel near the Van Rohe Belt. After some talk we worked together and a DHC miner filled my transport for free. Then we departed together for Liberty. The route was quite safe. After unloading the cargo in the capital, I offered Kiel to come with me to Platinum Inc. He accepted my offer and we delivered Reinforced Alloy. An hour later Kiel departed from Alberta system with its cargo hold full of Platinum ore.
I believe this joint operation can serve as a ground for further cooperation with DHC, whose influence in Rheinland's government may win us back the very profitable Ageira White Boxes delivery contract.
Core/APM Meeting
In the orbit of Planet Los Angeles I encounteredCore|APM-Legendary. She introduced herself as Gabrielle Daniels, Deputy CEO of APM. Seizing the opportunity I invited her to visit our facilities in Alberta system and she accepted. There we loaded our transports with Platinum ore and we departed for New Berlin system. During the inter-House travel we discussed about the current state of affairs in Sirius as well as business opportunities. Anyway, after reaching our destination Ms Daniels offered me to meet her "father", Jack Daniels, Guildkeeper of the Core and Commander of its military forces. I accepted the offer and loaded my transport with Ship Hull Panels. Quite curiously, the APM vessel procured Black Market Munitions.
Despite my reluctance to use jump holes, we went from Frankfurt to Sigma-15 system and then to the Edge Worlds. My ship's nav map contained extremely limited information of these systems, but I could identify Omicron Delta when we arrived. After a brief stop outside Freeport 11 we went to Nauru, a planet which appears to be developed by the Core. There I met Jack Daniels onboard Perditrix - one of the Core flagships - and after a few introductions he led me to Omicron Rho system. My transport unloaded the Ship Hull Panels to Alabama Shipyard and while it was loading with APM Advanced Hardware for the travel back to Liberty I boarded Perditrix to meet the Guildkeeper in person.
Unlike what we expected, Jack Daniels is by all accounts a simple man. He does not have a rough personality, instead he is a person who solves problems. Unlike previous administrations, the Core has by all accounts matured and that is reflected in their leadership too. Perhaps a small detail that may be of interest to you is the origin of Jack Daniels. He was born in Houston, spent most of his adult life in Liberty and he seems to still bear a love for his old House. During our lengthy meeting he told me about the volatile nature of the Edge Worlds and Core's role in it. I even saw with my own eyes one of the calamities of this war, the graveyard of Planet Toledo. Anyway, due to the length of the meeting I spent the night on Perditrix and we continued the following morning. After the negotiations were over, Jack Daniels offered to take me to Liberty by using his battleship's jump drives. I had but to accept such generous offer and we arrived a few minutes later in Cortez system. My transport was already instructed and took the long way back to Liberty.
As the boundaries are pushed even further, I believe it is a matter of decades before the Edge Worlds will start becoming more and more civilized and developed. The Core is no doubt our only friend in the region and considering Interspace's investment in APM we already have made a strong step for further cooperation. We should not neglect the fact that Rheinland also wants to expand in the Omicrons. Subsequently I have written a four-point bulletin plan which I am going to send privately to the Executives' inboxes. If it is approved, Universal's operations will expand in this region and except the strategic gains there are also untapped resources which we can exploit such as the very rare Iridium.
Forlorn / Junker Marauders
Yesterday I contracted a Forlorn mercenary to escort me safely to Manhattan since I have heard there was fighting between the Navy and the Unioners in Texas system. Curiously enough the Forlorn ship was equipped with a Red Hessian Thruster within Rheinland. Isn't that illegal? Probably that's one of the two criminal organizations Commander Stenn told me in the previous report with which the Forlorn has a pact with. Anyway, Mr Marr was quite helpful and we safely reached Planet Manhattan where I wired his payment along with a small bonus. ••
Finally I also encountered a Junker Marauder ship in Omega-11. Nothing important came out of it, but it was carrying contraband so if we need a bit of leverage with the RFP, I took some pictures which can help them shut down smuggling routes. ••
