Elements of the Maltese Navy referring to themselves as D.I.E. have been mooring with Rochester Base on a consistent basis; partly to use the station's shielding as cover during periods when their sweeping raids through New York draw too much attention, and partly to avail themselves to Rochester's stores when their supplies run low. They have been doing this heedless of law enforcement presence.
At 2220 hours my pilot, with my approval, attempted to stop the flotilla from repeating this when pursued by a Liberty Navy bomber wing. His repeated hails were acknowledged and disregarded.
The continued abuse of the station's neutral-access docks, maintained for distressed and disabled craft brought by tugs, was witnessed by both the Liberty Naval response and a roving Xeno bomber craft attracted by the scuffle.
He, with my approval, opened fire on the Dreadnaughts in defense of Rochester.
Unfortunately, in spite of an unlikely attack from three fronts - 5th Squadron, The Xeno Alliance and my heavy bomber picket - the three capitals again nestled into moor points that would threaten our living quarters if directly assaulted.
I will not go into detail about how such actions threaten the future of Rochester, the beating heart of the Junker ethos and the linchpin of our entire operation. Particularly not after the horrors we all witnessed in New London.
