Another indie supporting "capwhore" here. (By the way, i hate that term, i use it myself, but it is insulting)
You know, i have been againts the idea of telling people what they can and can't fly since i started here, and ive argued it for ages... ad nauseum.... whatever, seems it is now the factions have it in their head to do this thing So be it - They are saying they have no "sinister" motives here about control, they dont want to tell anyone what they can and cant fly, they are just trying to "force" people to RP... etc etc etc
Fair enough, lets take that at face value.
But noobl3t has an interesting point: Independent capship owner, Role Player, contributes to the forums, writes RP in the forums whats more... by all definitions what the faction argument is saying they want Indie caphip players to be......
So why exactly should he register? Doing so, serves no Role play reason other than to kowtow to a faction.... really, all it does is publicly acknowledge that "Yes, i have to do this because you can make me". Even though as an independent player he is actually doing nothing wrong.
Now, i am not bashing factions here, im in factions myself, but some of my characters arent, and have no intention of being. They will also NOT be registering their capital class vessels.
Don't register Noobl3t, and Role Play the results. If you do so you are the better player.
