Grouped or not ... the rule states the one actually doing the pirating is the one that the rule applies to. If he's in a gunboat or smaller ... its good. Just because he's grouped with a destroyer doesn't mean the gunboat can't pirate.
' Wrote:Can you have a Destroyer/Cruiser with you when you go pirating, to take out enemy military crafts/NPC's/tradelanes so that the pirate in the fighter/bomber/gunboat can concentrate solely on pirating trading vessels?
The only thing the destroyer or cruiser can do is protect the gunboat or smaller from attack by military/police/bounty hunters/etc. The rule quoted applies only to the actual act of piracy. If the destroyer or cruiser actually fires upon the trader ... then you have problems.
' Wrote:If the trader felt he couldn't act as he normally would because of the threat of the cruiser, then there is an issue.
If the cruiser was protecting the pirate that killed the trader from other forces while the trader was being killed, it's a rather large issue.
Not true. The trader is not in danger of the destroyer or cruiser. Reason is because the destroyer or cruiser would (or should) know that he could be sanctioned if he actually fired on the trader. The rule protects the trader from destroyers and cruisers. Only danger you have is from the gunboat/fighter/bomber.
' Wrote:NO. That counts as interfering. Not allowed.
Where does the rule say ANYTHING about interfering? A destroyer or cruiser can knock out the trade lanes all day long ... so long as he doesn't make demands on or fires upon the trader ... there's nothing wrong.
And ... just because there's a destroyer or cruiser present doesn't mean he's pirating.
Let the rule speak for itself and stop reading into it what's not there.
