The Amalfi Union represents a handful of families and individuals with investments and experience within the Maltese Navy and other militarized forces. Following the fracturing of the Church of Tarxien, many of these families found themselves with little of the political power they once wielded, and thus consolidated their pooled combined resources and efforts to form the Amalfi Union - a political alliance bent on safekeeping their holdings and assets from larger families that would seek to prey upon them.
With much of the experienced personnel of the Union having background and ties in Military and Intelligence, the Amalfi Directorate was established to oversee all of the Union's space-bourne operations. For the full scale that Amalfi wished to express it's control outside of Malta however, it would need even more support from other famiglia and more talented individuals to fill its ranks and crew its ships. Directorate personnel are a mix of all walks of Maltese and Sirian life - from the lowliest house-servant, to the most decorated military officers; all are united and equal in purpose to bring glory, safety, and prosperity to Malta.
The Directorate is a military-intelligence organization that operates using a distinct focus on reconnaissance, intelligence, and precision to accomplish it's goals. Dedicated to the defense of Malta and the growth of Malta's influence over foreign regions, the Union is now seeking to grow its powerbase by inducting more families into the Union as signatories, all the while the Directorate actively seeks new agents and pilots to expand operations.

Amalfi is meant as a character-focused military-intelligence organization. Prospective members are encouraged to exhaustively research and come to understand the Outcasts and their lore and status within Sirius. The best way to do this at present is to read as many Outcast base infocards and any forum RP you can find- but also to ask questions of those that are more familiar with the faction via PM or simply asking in discussion threads. This post in particular is an absolute must-read for any member of the Outcast playerbase.
In the spirit of this, applicants are encouraged to have spent/spend some time as an independent outcast prior to applying so as to readily familiarize yourself with the NPC faction. Any forum RP you can provide for your character prior to applying will certainly go a long way in the decision to accept you or not, but lacking it won't be seen as a negative.
