I think it'd be helpful to not try to contantly make a big deal out of it. Looking at the involved groups, it is a tiny skirmish of a bunch of loud people. The Unioners aren't that big of a group. Battlegroup Harmony isn't that big of a group. Battlegroup Tarrafal isn't that big of a group. Freeport 2 is not that big either. For the Rheinlanders, it's more of a Hinterhofprügelei and less of an outright war scenario in Bering.
I think you have a wrong understanding of the intention of this. It is to proceed with the story of Bering, not to proceed with the mod in general or with the general storyline. This is merely a tiny thing. And it constantly gets pushed by people either by memes or public comms of insult exchanges and threats. And more memes.
