I was asked if I supported this registration policy, earlier but I had to go and deal with some blanket legislation that had unfortunately caught me out unfairly. No I didn't spend an hour yelling at the local council I just did what was necessary and went about my day. But that's not the point.
Before I answer the question I'm going to explain why any answer is the wrong answer. If I say I support the registration it will be taken as "I'm an indy bashing faction leader" even if I beleive in it's intended purpose and that it can fulfill that purpose.
If I answer that I do not support this, then it will be taken as if I stand "against the unfair tyranny levelled against the independent owners", even if my reasons are different.
This I know.
However I'm still going to answer it.
Yes I support this movement in principle. I support what it stands for, bringing a minimum standard of RP to any capital ship owner.
No I do not support this motion in practice because it cannot hope to fulfil it's objective. Those that this actually targets, the cap owners that just want to PvP, won't care about it. So it will acheive nothing against them, except to give them the PvP they crave.
What it does acheive however is to bring those on the fringe of RP into the community, it has bought at least one person to the forums to sign up and carry on hassle free, that's a victory. A small one, but a victory nonetheless.
