Debrief at HMS York

She'd spent a few days onboard HMS Essex, recooperating - rejuvenating. Her captors had been harsh in their treatment and the scars on her body showed it, not to mention the fact she no longer looked like the confident and bold 29 year old she once was. Her face was serious and eyes cold - only her dry humour had somehow survived the ordeal.

She hadn't met Commodore Edmund Steiner before; she pondered on his potential character as the nerves in her stomach began to swirl and tumble, she was escorted to her shuttle. The shuttle looked worn and tired, it'd probably only seen a few years service and it was already bruised and broken. The flank of marines took their positions as Brooks strapped her harness in - it was only a short flight.

HMS York could be seen in the distance and Brooks could hear the pilot in the cockpit.
"This is B-Sierra.4 requesting docking permissions, over"

After she heard the faint muffled response from HMS York, the shuttle proceeded to dock. The hissing of the airlocks greeted Brooks as she was paraded down into the hangar where the Commodore was waiting for her...
