"so many attempts"
Are we even talking about the same game? I've only seen Spazzy's rework being the change to Jumptrading in like... years.
Back when it was Barge Madness, yes, THAT was pretty gratuitous, but Jumptrading as it is now is unspeakably tame. (And Barge-Jumping wouldn't be possible now on a FL ID anyway.)
Every time I see someone say "Jumptrading avoids interaction", I feel the urge to laugh my cynical ass off, because anyone who's partaken in a Jump convoy knows how easy it is to be caught up to/slowed down by just about anything. The pre-Spazzy rework Jumptrading setup was hilariously easy to stop with a single shot from a Cruise Disruptor, and the current setup is easy to stop with... a Cruise Disruptor.
My retort to your saying "Jumptrading is detrimental" is "You have become complacent." At what point am I obligated to cross paths with someone who wishes me ill, for example, some rando pirate camping a Lane? If you want to catch a Jump convoy, you have to move around to find them and, gasp, open yourself up to risk, same as the traders that would cross your path. What's that? Only the traders should be in danger from your piratical endeavors? Cry me a river and adapt to changing conditions. Or don't.
