Where are these "Rules" of piracy that people keep talking about?
I've looked in the rules but I can't find any thing like all the
hidden things that people are talking about.

4.6 Remember that Discovery is a roleplaying server. Factions and faction members (just like all other players) are obliged to act in the way their reputation and status require. Factions are expected to set an example in role-play.

- Pirates

6.17 Owners of Pirate IDs have a right to attack:

- Military/Police
- Bounty Hunters
- Trader ships that do not pay for passage
- Unfriendly pirates

6.19 Pirates and terrorists have a right to deal as much damage as they see fit before or after demanding money from a trader ship, but killing trader ship before demanding money or cargo is not allowed. Attacking traders or demanding cargo is not allowed for cruisers and battleships, unless cruisers and battleship belong to Terrorist ID or Phantom ID owner.

Pilot carrying this ID has joined pirates of Sirius sector. Pirate ID grants its owner right to scan other ships and demand cargo, engage bounty hunters and lawfuls, fulfil bounty contracts, participate in military operations on unlawful side, and trade. Pirate ID owner cannot ally with lawful forces.
Allowed ships: Fighters, Freighters, Transports, Gunboats
Carrying unmounted IDs in your ship, as well as not equipping an ID, is a serious crime.

Instead lots of people are rule lawyering ingame instead of applying the common sense "rules" of being a pirate.
And i might add they are missing out on enjoying the game to the fullest.
